It is an easy problem to solve and one that I am very adept at solving. I just don't like it. Much like a quote I have held onto, in the dark recesses of my mind, from a B rate movie 20 years ago. Protagonist says he doesn't approve of violence. Plot unfolds and he exhibits an unsettling capacity to that end. When challenged on it, he says "I said I don't approve of violence. I never said I wasn't good at it." Same basic line from Quigley down under. He said he never had much use for a pistol....shoots the other guy down in a duel and states that he never said he didn't know how to use one.. I can be a big old bag-0-d!(*$ when the situation warrants. I've just spent too much of my life being a professional a$$hat. I enjoy life more when I find better ways to resolve my problems.

Alway be nice even when you screw someone. Some people are slow learners. If you act nice they never know you do not like them and they never put their guard up. I know from all the nice people who screwed me. I was a slow learner.

Easy solution: you need to plant a barrier between your apple orchard and your neighbor's property to minimize any spraying carryover getting on their place. Suggest some type of tall, fast growing hedge or windbreak (oleander, Italian cypress, etc).

Even bush willow, they will get 15' tall and provide a nice wind break. I bought mine from a place in ny.

Sounds like you have neighbors that don't care about reason, logic or your rights. They only know what they want and anything else is bad.
If you put up a screen that will also not make them happy.

I would just go about setting up your orchard and not have any discussion with them. Spray when the wind is favorable.
They may see that it is not the disaster they think it is and will appreciate the blooms in the spring.
