Nope... a Doctor I work with was coming home from a holiday party with his wife and suddenly got the urge to go and pulled off the highway... just as he was getting situated behind a tree a cruiser pulls up thinking car trouble... his wife said no... my husband has a weak bladder... he was cited and had to hire a lawyer and appear in court... very costly as the event was down in Monterey..

The DA let him do community service and said he got off easy as he could have been charged with indecent exposure which would have put him on the sex offender registry if found guilty... there was also a secondary charge of failure to obey because the officer ordered him to stop mid stream and he didn't...

None of this is made up...

Back to my HOA... for 50 years the HOA function was to maintain the roads... about the time I bought in things started to change... the most recent CCR were just released... any landscape changes, exterior color change, roofing, vegetation removal now require prior approval... no commercial vehicles, trailers, tractors to be stored outside... front, back or side yards.

Three years ago found my perfect spot of 5 acres in the county... just couldn't make it happen... since, prices are up anywhere from 50 to 100% since 2012...

I've had zero problems and really great neighbors... mostly all retired... not sure what will happen when they start selling and moving...

Even though it is an all natural product, I won't likely be discussing it with the neighbors. I'm gonna be neighborly and helpful but I'm playing my cards close to the vest from here out. I think they are the type with too much time on their hands...going thru life, looking for a cause. Keep my head down and keep doing my thing and they will move on to something else. Help keep the road clear in the winter time, smile and wave, swing by to give a hand here and there . Keep the brush clear from the road-(I own a few hundred yards of the private road....they have right of way) As for peeing in my yard, I have 50+ acres. I can Crap on a stump. Nobody will know. I really think the problem will be solved in time. I sent the guy an email offering to let him hunt. He said thank you but he hunts his mother's farm about 15 miles away and also has access to some of the properties up the mountain......there are a couple large 2-300 acre places up the mountain from us that are just cabin retreats. I think he has gotten to know all the folks there over the years. like some said here, they probably were just so used to feeling like they had use of and a sense of control over their surroundings, having me show up and change things was hard to take.

It's good to see you making progress.

One thing I would check, there may be a requirement to have the posted no trespassing signs every X amount of feet from each other. Being nice and not putting a sign within his view may not be in accordance with requirements.

Just a thought.
In Virginia you can mark the land as no trespassing/no hunting with 2 inch by 8 inch aluminum colored paint mark on trees. 3-6 feet from the ground. And I have them all around my place. I noticed after I did that, the neighbors on the other side marked their land with bright yellow no trespassing signs. Suits me fine.

I think the being mean part is a go to move for a lot of people after having their hand burned by the stove one too many times. Coming on here and posting about it gave me time to vent a little and consider my next move instead of spewing out my venom in response.

I think you have handled it well, wouldn't have a problem with you for a neighbor.

Human interaction is never easy or straight forward. Sure, one would think being "NICE" is the answer. But people all too often don't respect nice any more then they do an A-Hole. It's just amazing how pushy some neighbors can be to have their way. And sure, it's all smiles, BBQs and friendly chit-chat until they don't get their way.

I had a few difficult first encounters over the years... some actually turned around and we became good friends... respect often must be earned.

Others went South and that's OK too.
