I really don't have any choice. I have had a dog companion almost my entire life. So shooting or harming someone else's dog companion would be nearly impossible for me.

And, I agreed to circle back and re-communicate if a problem persisted. Doing anything other than that would not be right. I think it will work out ... but the dog may not be happy if it is tied up for the next X years.

That is why fencing and other tools are available. The owner can make it easier for himself and the dog!

If the dog ends up being tied out 24/7, then the owners are another problem

I'm not a gun toting extremist. If your dog comes on my property and barks at or growls at me with aggression it will get shot. Good thing Boston is a long ways from Missouri huh. :D
Good thing it's a loooong ways from here too!!

Let me tell you how it went down for me several years ago. i will make it short. Two stray dogs decided to attack my cat 10 foot off of my back porch. I went out with revolver in hand. Dog 1 had cat in jaws and was killing it. I kick dog 1 to make it let go of cat. He didn't like that and growled and bared his teeth to me 3 feet away and meant to attack. I killed dog 1. My cat died in my hands from suffocation of having a crushed chest. Dog 2 ran away. I called the Sheriff, and he found the owner of the dogs. A neighbor. The neighbor got to come over and pick up his dead dog, and he also got to pay me for the dead cat in front of the sheriff. That is how it went down in Missouri in 1997.

Oh,.. I got to bury my own cat, and the other cat that had made it up high in a tree took several hours to come down. The wife finally talked it down. The other cat was traumatized by the whole event, and was scared to death of dogs for the rest of its life. Moral of the story. Keep you ....... dog's at home. They don't belong on other people's property.

Yes. it should be simple. You want a dog be prepared for the time and cost to keep it in your control at all times. If not, don't get one!

If everyone took that common sense approach with pets and children the world would be a much different place.
