there are more than enough of dog owners who are very inconsiderate.

Ain't that the truth. Many of them right here.

Nope. Just your general attitude about it all.

What attitude??

So I should let those hunting dogs roam my property at will?? WHY? Its my property, why don't they go hunt their property? I'm sure if I went trespass hunting on their property they would throw a fit!

You know, I was brought up to never raise my voice to a female. My dad taught me that.
There's a small abandoned farm I cut hay on nearby. The owner sold & moved to the other side of town. New owner is The Battlefield Trust out of Washington DC. They have given me full authority to cut the hay, store it in the barn, mow the lawns and chase off trespassers. Well I'm up there last week and here comes this ol gal with her giant dog, walks past the no trespassing signs right onto the property allows the dog to take a giant dump on the lawn. Doesnt even bring the walmart bag to scoop it up.
I'm not accustomed to confronting women. Taught not to. So what would you do?
I agree with most here on this thread that there are more than enough of dog owners who are very inconsiderate. This thread wouldnt start & continue if there wasnt. Everything from dog poop to dogs in trash, to dog attacks. Probably goes back to the way they were raised.

I would politely say to her, "Ma'am, you and your dog are trespassing. Cleanup your dog's waste and do not come on the property again." No need to raise a voice and it is not impolite on your point to say it calmly.

One of two things will happen. One, she could be apologetic, clean up the mess and would probably stay off the property. Two, she could be resentful and either mouth off in an unladylike manner or refuse to clean up. In either of those situations, she will probably be back. At that point you will have to figure out how far you want to push for her and her dog to stay off the property. Good luck.

And thank you for having the decency and civility your father taught you. It is a shame that the woman doesn't have a better sense of respect and responsibility.

If the "woman" acts like that confront her! You were there when this happened? I would have told her to pick it up and pay better attention to the signs! Just because she is a woman doesn't give her special rights to ignore signs and do what she wants!

Hay Dude, it's really quite easy. What your Dad taught you is great, but don't let that idea stop you from handling wrong situations. There are passive personalities, ones that let thing go when they shouldn't. The wrong eventually builds up and that personality explodes, like a hot water heater over pressurized! There are also aggressive personalities, ones that blow up at anything and everything and often quickly. The personality you want to demonstrate is a assertiveness. The idea is, we may not agree but we don't have to stomp on each other.

Go to her and have a conversation. No raised voice required. Explain your responsibility keeping the place clean, and her responsibility of keeping her dog under control, which also means the animal can not run free and crap as it pleases unless she picks it up. Or whatever variation you choose to express about the rules. If she raises her voice or argues, just keep cool and don't do the same as she did. Walk away if you need to.

Then evaluate the results of the conversation, keep an eye out to be sure it's being followed and proceed as necessary.

I don't throw a fit. I just tell the few trespassers to leave and not come back. No need to get excited and probably better not to as hunters are generally armed and I always am.

I am kind of amazed that you have trespassing hunters at all. In seven years I have had on night hunter run through the property. If it wasn't for the trail camera, I wouldn't have even known about it.

I have a had a couple of adjoining property hunters ask if they could retrieve shot game that might run onto might property. I tell them sure, give them my phone and ask that they text so I know not to fire in their direction. Not a big deal, Heck, I am happy for them that they are filling a tag.

Yep, I realize that. I was about 1000 feet away operating a farm tractor. Couldnt get to her before she left the property and crossed back over to the town house complex.
I cant believe the way people are raised and their lack of consideration for others.
My wife tells me Im very scary looking and not to confront women

As I said earlier, I had a problem with some neighbors' dog running as a pack. The owner of the main culprit eventually solved the problem by building the mother of all dog pens. So far, I have been able to give every dog on my ground a pass, but if one ever shows aggression at my wife or children, I will do what is necessary to protect my family.

Okay, how about a fun variance on this discussion. I was in the blind yesterday trying to call a nice tom in. Suddenly there was a large gray cat about 15 yards away, just standing there staring in my direction. My immediate assumption was it was a stray somebody had dumped. Cats don't normally last long around here. The coyotes, I think, get them. So having a bit of a soft heart I am wondering if I should rescue it. My wife would not be happy. My dog would not be happy. As I contemplating this, I notice it is a bit muddy. Okay, it has been out here a few days at least. Hmmm? It appears well fed. Well, I have quite a rat problem so it has probably been feasting on them. And then it hits me. That face, those ears, it is powerfully built from what I can see. It is facing straight at me. Wish I could see its profile or tail. After a couple of minutes, it turns and walks away. Yes, that is one "here kitty, kitty. Here kitty." that would not have ended well for me. It was a young bobcat and obviously wasn't starving.

Over the years, I have had a couple of bobcats and coyotes come within a few feet of me while turkey hunting.
