The pipe is actually 4 1/2 round, and has got to be dumping near 40-50 gpm?

Thats way too much water to be grey water. You're talking about thousands of gallons an HOUR !!!!!!!!!

Is there any chance that he really doesn't know what it's there for? Could it be coming from some other place?

He'd have to be an utter MORON to drill a well to fill his pond when he's dumping 25,000 to 30,000 gallons of water a day. Isn't that enough to fill a swimming pool?

Something is very, very odd.

I had a house with two sump pumps that would run non-stop during the spring time. The water was clear when it exited the pipe about 100 feet out into a ditch. I don,t think it put it that kind of volume.

Does the house have a basment? Could just be sump pumps running overtime. He is de-watering the neighborhod!!!!

Keep us updated.

I also will be interested to find out the source of all that water. We had a similar situation and it tuned out to be a broken water main to our neighbors hosue. his sump pump ran non stop, and i mean non stop.
