Every time I read a thread like this I thank my lucky stars for the neighbors I have. We can talk to each other about anything that concerns us. I have easement through his property for my driveway and we share maintenance including purchase of crushed limestone. In the 20 years we've been neighbors we've never had a problem. I told him I want the opportunity to buy him out if he decides to sell and I trust that I will get that opportunity.

Agree 100%!
But I USED to have one of those neighbors, far north part of my property... no matter what you talked to him about, the conversation would go sideways. The guy was just wired to be a douchenheimer. I finally told him to build a bigger fence if he thought we were riding our dirt bikes on his property. (We were not.) He did it. A ridiculously high and expensive fence with no reason for it. (no crops or livestock on either side) He only built it on my property border. All the other neighbors chuckled. Guy died about 6 months after he built that fence. Now I have nothing but nice neighbors!
