I don't agree with everything that he says, but Sigarms is a stray dog's best friend. So he has the right to be a little rabid when talking about them.![]()
Thank you, and at least you may understand a little bit where I'm coming from.
Like most people here, a long time ago most bully breeds scared the heck out of me. Too scary and didn't want to deal with them.
Then, after taking a couple in (by karma or whatever you'd like to call it), I learned more about the breed, and in particular, sometimes the people who would intentionally want the breed aren't the best owners.
Don't get me wrong, handling a bully breed takes special care and more work, but the reality is, some of the VERY BEST dogs I've evered owned was an American Staffordshire Terrier, and because they were so good to me, I can't, nor will I, unconditionally condemn the breed.
As I've gotten older I'd like to think I've gotten wiser. The one thing that really scares me is when people condemn a sect or a group. Example...All muslims are terrorists, All Republicans butt holes or all Democrats are communists (or to that extent, just look at our political forum LOL). When someone says a breed of dog is sterotyped negatively (such as the pit bull) and deservedly so, that scares the living crap out of me when I had the SAME breed of dog and I found that isn't the case from my own personal experiences.
Heck, when I was really young, I thought all civilians were ******* and didn't deserve to live in the US because they didn't do their time serving (I was unconditionally branding people). The reality is now I believe living a civilian life is hard than leading a military life because you don't have anyone telling you what to do LMFAO.
A dog is mans best friend, but rarely do we give the same in return IMO.
EDIT- and for the record, I didn't turn this into a anti Bully Breed thread, but I'll be more than happy to stick around for it
