The undersea PTO switch and the HST "neutral" switch interact. First, close the underseat PTO switch with a piece of velcro or a cable tie. This may resolve your problem.
Have you greased the Zerk on the HST pedal? Removed twigs and leaves from the transmission linkage?
When the Kubota dealer adjusts the HST neutral switch, you do not want them to adjust it too "fine". You want it closed over a fairly broad range from the central position. If Kubota service adjusts HST neutral switch too fine, the non-start condition will repeat over and over.
I did not adjust HST neutral switch myself, Kubota service did it for me.
This is from my personal experience. Use at your own risk.

You don't Have to bypass anything...
Insure that tractor is in neutral (so it won't run over you).
Temporarily Jump from the large Positive battery cable on the starter solenoid to the small terminal on the starter solenoid... That will crank & start the engine.

My B21 forward/reverse safety switch give me intermittent problems too. Thanks to KennyV's post you can get it started. When you get the time for better fix I found this video on you tube. It is for a different model kubota but the concept is the same. I haven't done it yet but it is on my list. Spray lube on all the treddle linkages helped.

You have got to be joking! You are suggesting a very dangerous practise! I know you have said to put the tractor in to neutral first, but if anything can go wrong , it will. The only safe way to start the tractor is with the clutch depressed. This involves someone sitting on the seat.

NO I was NOT joking...
He is wanting a way to start his machine so as to be able to Move it... NOT to do this as a routine method of starting.
Someone else setting there with the clutch in, will do NO more than One person paying attention. You may not be able to focus on a particular task long enough to prevent making a mistake, but I think the OP may do okay with a Minimal amount of caution... Without having to enlist another person to insure he not drive over himself...

The L48 is not a geared tractor so remote starting it will not cause it to move even if it is in gear. The HST pedal has to be moved forward or backwards to engage the HST.
A remote starter switch makes getting power to the starter solenoid. Those are made for the exact purpose the OP is looking for. Others have used such a switch for years. If its use killed people the nanny government would ban them for sure.

It looks like I'm having the same problem described here with my L3200. With the key in the start position, slowly rocking the pedal intermittently gives me a rapid clicking/rattling noise. I want to bypass just the neutral safety to confirm or rule it out. Unlike the B serries, this switch has 4 wires. Can anyone tell me which pairs to jump and what each pair disables?

Thanks for this thread people. My B710 is sitting in the driveway after changing the trans/hydro fluid and filters now, it wont turn over. I'm just curious if I spilled some transmission oil on the switch. Can someone tell me where the evil thing is?
