When a dealership will not back the manufacturer's warranty (as mine has clearly shown) and the company won't provide the service the consumer needs, it is a clear sign not to recommend that product to others.

One does not know when they will need warranty service and may not know where they'll live for the duration of the warranty period. When we purchase a product we expect the service that is guaranteed by the manufacturer. I, personally, feel obligated to warn others of the problems I have so they can make their own decisions with pertinent information available. The local dealership has a bad reputation and much of their work has been sent to the other facility. Had I been living here when I purchased the tractor, I most definitely would have bought a different color. We buy our tractors to use and I have many things that need to be done, the least of which is fighting with a dealership and manufacturer over a guaranteed issue.

A dealer with as you put it: " a bad reputation;" which is a totally subjective statement, (though may in fact be true, from some customers who've used the dealership in question's perspective), does not mean that the manufacturer is not honoring their warranty. Part of acquiring warranty service lies in the customer's obligation to go through the process as directed by the manufacturer, which includes attempts on the customer's part to resolve the issue with the dealer, then the zone rep, and then the manufacturer direct. One then has other options provided by law and which differ from state to state. If all the above are exhausted THEN one can resort to other methods of choice to further push the issue to resolution; court suit, etc.
Your situation does not speak badly of Kubota, merely the dealer in question and possibly the zone rep's willingness to find resolution. Essentially one has to adjust one's expectations to fit what is realistic in today's world or one will be sadly disappointed more often than not and life will seem like a miserable series of events all aimed at doing you wrong. I'm not saying you don't deserve better service and cooperation, just because you have a warranty does not mean you're going to find satisfaction in each situation with Kubota or any other manufacturer. Case by case is how I try to deal with these type of frustrating issues. Hope you get it fixed and find a way to be happy with your tractor, which I'm sure is a well made machine, even though it's not a Kioti:D

Good luck:thumbsup:

"I purchased an L3240 from Andy at Jennings and couldn't be happier with their service or price. They beat the local guys here and in Spokane by over $5k. By purchasing the tractor over the phone I only had to pay the sales tax rate for our area which was considerably less. Mr. Jennings delivered the tractor to us, about 380 miles away, for $300.

I worked with several people that purchased from Jennings and were extremely delighted with their service.

Good luck."

Think this is why they are dragging their feet on getting the tractor in for repair. Your savings on your distant purchase may not be as much when you need to have repairs done.

i cant believe this guy is being put at fault by some of you.
Having it bought elsewhere is no reason for the local dealer to send him away.
Does Kubota not warrant it's products nationwide?
Come on guys.....

Yes Kubota does warant things nationwide, but they also give a dealer an exclusive sales area to protect there investment.
Some dealers get the money out of sales and other get the profits form doing service. Problems arrise when you cross between the two business models.
When you are a dealer and you find out that you have someone wanting service but went way outside your area to get a deal on the tractor, who do you think will get money loosing waranty service first, the customers that purchased locally or the one shopping for the deal?
Sometimes you have to let the dealer win a little so that they are healthy and will be there to provide service and parts when it is really needed. Looks in this case the 5K savings should of gone towards a trailer.
Our dealer has on every contract that warranty does not cover transportation to and from shop. That is why I have a well built 14k equipment trailer.

Good point, and one which most won't understand.

The dealer is the front man for the company, period. If a person has trouble with a dealer doing warranty you cannot fault them for going to another dealer, in this case it will be another brand. When a business takes on a franchise they accept the warranty work regardless of how much they get paid. I would switch brands also if my local dealer only took care only of those that had bought from him, ignoring the rest. It is Kubota's responsibility to make sure that their dealers represent them the way they wish to be viewed. This dealer I guess wants to force the area to buy from him only or get zero service.

Since I do not have a trailer and would have to rent one twice to deliver the tractor and pick it back up said:
This paragraph leaves me with the opinion the poster is wanting a Dealer he bypassed for his purchase to now step up and provide free pick-up and return on warranty work. Ever car, truck or tractor I have ever owned had to be presented at the dealer for warranty service. It was also my responsibility and the cost was out of my pocket to deleiver the unit for service.

Maybe I am in the minority here but I see no where the poster has said he presented the tractor for service at any Kubota Dealership and was denied or put off. He keeps saying for him to take the tractor in for service he will have out of pocket cost to rent a trailer two times. My reading of the posters statement he seems to think the dealer he did not purchase from is remiss for not instantly coming to his residence, picking the tractor up and returing it later that same day repaired for FREE and this in turn makes Kubota a bad product.

Hey Guys listen up. It should not matter if anyone, ( not just OP) buys from local dealer or not, a warranty is a warranty and should be honored by the manufacture, period! We all know or should know that if dealer picks up and returns your tractor for repairs there is a charge and that the warranty does not cover that. But for repairs once in the shop it should. Forget the ifs and the he should of's. If you buy a anything , car ,truck, motorcycle and decide to take it on a trip across our great country and it breaks down 3000 miles away from your dealer. Do you mean to tell me its ok if dealer in Utah won't repair your Chevy truck just because you bought it in New York? But Come on guys, you can't believe and agree with that can you? This is not open for an argument, just a pure and simple statement.
