Unless your point was that you have poor reading comprehension skills, you've just failed miserably. "

"Work on it" is NOT letting a problem they were responsible for in the first place sit for a month and fester.

Well, thanks for throwing personal jabs when you dont know me at all and i was trying to have a civil discussion, let alone the fact i keep repeating over and over again we dont know any details so how in the heck can you make all these assumptions? Im willing to hear the whole story. Again thanks, now I dont really feel the need to argue anymore with you... Good day to you sir.

I would agree that this is a dealer issue IF the regional Kubota service manager did his job. I bought a Kubota because of their reputation and the reputation that a different dealership had that two of my friends had worked with. Unfortunately, I moved 400 miles away and the great dealership is out of the question.

Thanks for the advice on writing a letter as I'll certainly do that as well as contact the state Attorney General's office.

I reach the regional rep by calling 209-334-9910 and spelling his name on their directory. I do not have his extension number.

Actually, I'm NOT saying it's a dealer issue. I am saying you are having trouble with a dealer AND it has become a manufacturer's issue due to the lack of service by both the dealer AND the zone rep. The dealer is not serving your needs and the zone rep is not doing his job to your, the customer's satisfaction. The next level of involvement is with the MANUFACTURER. That is who issues the warranty, and the ultimate resting place for any unresolved warranty issues, no matter who screws up along the way. They are your source for recourse.

It pretty hard to tell from the lack of info given...we are all making assumtions without fact. So we wait and see.
This is my last post on this issue for now also.
Right, we dont know details. I just dont figure a guy contacts Kubota without a good reason, especially if he's taken care of or a promise of it, just to have a few conversations with Kubota's answering machine till somebody finally calls back.
I, for one wouldn't. I dont figure anybody else would either. We all have better things to do with our time.
On the other hand, my guess is that just about everyone of us has had a problem with a warranty claim of any given product. I certainly had my share of it.
His complaint is not "unbelievable"

Like you said.....wait and see.

It is sad to see normally reasonable people resort to name calling and personal attacks over something like this.

And how much time does it take to fix a $6.00 PTO seal and send the customer down the road happy....

The dealer blew it !!

To answer a few of the questions brought up inregards to my problem. The tractor is an L3240 bought from an extremely reputable dealer 400 miles away. I bought it prior to moving after my retirement.

The seal is leaking so much that I feel it is not safe to my machine to keep filling it with hydraulic fluid and use it.

The local dealership has not refused service directly. When I called them the first time they said it would be about a week as they were busy and would call me back on Friday of that week. Tuesday, the following week, I called them and was told that it would just be another couple of days and they would get back to me. A week later, they still hadn't. I called them and was told they had 6 tractors that just came in and then they would call me and let me know. After waiting another week, I called and was told they had three hay balers they were working on. They told me to take it to a different dealership.

Since I do not have a trailer and would have to rent one twice to deliver the tractor and pick it back up, I would be spending more than what the repair would run. I have decided to have an independent repair shop fix my machine.

When a dealership will not back the manufacturer's warranty (as mine has clearly shown) and the company won't provide the service the consumer needs, it is a clear sign not to recommend that product to others.

One does not know when they will need warranty service and may not know where they'll live for the duration of the warranty period. When we purchase a product we expect the service that is guaranteed by the manufacturer. I, personally, feel obligated to warn others of the problems I have so they can make their own decisions with pertinent information available. The local dealership has a bad reputation and much of their work has been sent to the other facility. Had I been living here when I purchased the tractor, I most definitely would have bought a different color. We buy our tractors to use and I have many things that need to be done, the least of which is fighting with a dealership and manufacturer over a guaranteed issue.

This note is to vent some steam as well as warn anyone considering the purchase of a Kubota. When I went to take off the front snow blower, I discovered the seal around my mid PTO was leaking. No sweat, I thought, since the tractor is under warranty. How wrong I can be!

The local dealership has been blowing me off for over a month. I have called the western area service manager, Phil Ingram, numerous times but just to get his answering machine. The only time he was courteous enough to return a call, he told me to take the tractor to a dealership further away. By the time I paid to rent a trailer to haul the tractor to the other place and factoring in the fuel for my truck, I could have a local tractor maintenance shop repair my rig.

If Kubota won't force their dealerships to do warranty work then why should we support their product? I have liked my tractor and the only prior complaint I had was the super sensitive seat switch that won't let my wife drive the tractor most of the time.

Hopefully others haven't experienced this poor quality of service.

A month is an absurd amount of time to wait for warranty work. As far as I'm concerned a week max.

I understand your frustration and don't blame you one bit if you chose not to support Kubota in the future. I'm sure if you would have know this in the beginning you might have looked elsewhere. I know i would have...

Good luck-

Thank you for responding.

Heres where the issue arises.
"When a dealership will not back the manufacturer's warranty (as mine has clearly shown) and the company won't provide the service the consumer needs, it is a clear sign not to recommend that product to others."

Its not a sign to not recommend that product with others, its a sign not to recommend that dealer to others.

My thoughts were right on the money here, as you stated you were never refused work BUT,

You purchased your tractor somewhere else, be it right or wrong, with some dealers you go to the back of the line as regular customers get taken care of first. I dont agree with it, but ive heard it from the horses mouth, a 4 dealership kubota dealer I buy from.

Because of this and thier bad rep/heavy workload they keep moving you around, and unless you leave it on thier fron door it would continue. As I mentioned I spent over 250k in the last 8 years with this dealer and have still waited over a month for service for units I purchased new from them. No call backs, they are plain busy.

And because they were busy, they told you to take it somewhere else because obviously things were taking forever.

This isnt KTC's fault, its a dealer mismanaging thier workload and they should have been upfront with a timeline from the get go.

KTC has no power to control a work schedule, only provide assurance the dealer must repair it as was so politely mentioned earlier.

I am sorry for your troubles, but really it is hard for me to understand trashing an entire company over what is basically a scheduling issue on a dealers behalf, not a failure to agree to honor the warrantee. I would feel the same regarding ktc, jd or nh. Im sure eventually they would repair your machine, just not in a reasonable amount of time.

Im not sticking up for kubota as they have screwed me once too, but this time i really dont feel the blame falls on them enough to say "never buy a kubota". I love mine, I like the deere too. Just find a good dealer and be done with it.

Good luck with the repair.
And by all means, send ktc a LETTER explaining your dissatisfaction and your repair bill, maybe something will come of it who knows, but dont hold your breath.
