Never Change Your Oil Again !!

Whoa! Cool! Now I got something to clean the Snakeoil in my 1972 Gremlin with! That should cure my muffler bearing rap in no time at all, and if I add a magnet to the filter, I bet it'd actually multiply the molecules so I'd never have to add more oil either!

Suh-weet!

I do not understand why people keep trying to find ways around a simple and time proven maintenance task when, performed regularly @ scheduled intervals, almost garauntees a long engine life. There are definitely interesting methods floating around, but good oil combined with a quality filter are detrimental to an engines performance. Heck, I find it rewarding to change my own oil and service my own vehicles!!

Um, this site and there products are well respected for years...:confused:

I remember Dad had a 63' Ford with a 390 in it. He used a toilet paper oil filter, changed the filter every month and added back a quart of oil.
Once, he took it to a local mechanic to have it serviced before a long trip. The mechanic stated he didn't change the oil because it appeared that it had recently been changed, to which my Dad replied "I haven't changed the oil in nine years".:eek:

Well, I'm not so brave. I do think that oil last considerably longer than 3k or 5K miles. Could do the oil analysis, but just as easy to change it regularly.
Synthetic with a premium filter, always!

Ok, thats great. Do you use their product? Can you give first hand info on how it performs or are you going on what the website says? If you do use their product, please provide the results for us so we may be able to form our own opinion. If you are basing your comments strictly on what you read at their website, your argument has no merit.

I think that is unfair Deerefan. Do you have specific knowledge of every single thing you deliver advice on? I think several of you are overreacting and thinking that these by-pass filter units are some kind of magic magnetic mileage extender rip off. They are not. They are not used in automobiles or tractors but they are not uncommon in ships or industrial engines and have been around for quite a while. Pick up a magazine about trawlers and you will see they are quite well accepted as an alternative to difficult at sea oil changes. Combined with regular oil analysis, the use of a by-pass filter is pretty reasonable and not a new fangled idea.

To answer your question, no I do not give advice on things I have very little knowledge of. I have been working as a foreman in commercial construction for a long time. I will give advice regarding different aspects of construction. If someone comes to me with health problems, no advice from me, I have no idea how to fix it. If you read my previous posts, I am NOT saying this product is bogus. I am quite sure this product works great in certain applications and probably is absolutely necessary in certain operations. All I know is it has been proven time and again that regular oil changes can extend the life of any engine. Period. I'm not saying this product does not. If he uses this product, instead of giving a goofy little question with confusion faces, post your knowledge and results. That would be way more helpful.

I would love to have one of these filters. They are a bit expensive. They will work, filtering on micron or smaller the oil will remain clean. I have seen filters used to filter water in the back country to make it drinkable. I have used bypass filters [bathroom paper] that clean the oil very well. These filters might be easer to change.
