Re: Never thought I\'d be asking this, are the BX\'s...

I am considering the slim possibility of a BX24 with the little hoe. I would really like to have a chipper though. I am glad to hear your comment about the bagger. I will have to check into that as opposed to bagging. I could see the bagger being pretty pricey. I have yet to go to the dealer and seriously discuss anything. I love having my L3830 but there is no question it is more then I need for my new place. I would like to sell it soon with the 84" mower as tractors are going like crazy up here. Gold Country Kubota has sold almost their entire inventory. Thanks for all the comments. Rat.

Re: Never thought I\'d be asking this, are the BX\'s...

Rat,

I can tell you my BX2200 was an awesome machine. Only reason I don't own it anymore is cuz the wife wouldn't have two machines. Mine was not "fine cut" (never heard of that before, must be a new BX feature), but it cut the lawn very nicely. The 60" deck cut almost as nicely as my zero-turn Exmark. They are extremely versitile little rigs. Love to have another some day. Excellent mower IMO....especially with a bagging unit. But as others have said, it seems like a lot of work to deal with the cuttings. Mulch kits sounds like the least amount of work for the best results.

Thanks Jim, I had the oppourtunity to look at a BX 24 and a BX 1850 this morning. My first thoughts after owning a L48 and L3830 was "man those front tires are really tiny". Why could'nt they at least make them a little larger if for no other reason then looks. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't know, I guess I'll have to look at it some more and see if it grows on me. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

One thing I forgot to ask, does anyone use TnT on their little BX's?

Re: Never thought I\'d be asking this, are the BX\'s...

Yes the wheels do seem a little small, however, and I may be wrong but the lighter weight and lower center of gravity could be more desirable for cuting grass especially with hills. Due to less abuse on the ground and less tippy.
