You should find some excused to use your FEL, even if it's just scattering some large rocks around the yard and picking them up and dumping them again. I've had my tractor about 13 months, and I can pretty much just scoop things up without much thinking about it now.
When I first got it, my wife would be standing there angling here hand to describe how I should be moving the bucket and it'd take me a few tries to get things right. Oddly, it didn't take all that much practice to be at an okay level. I'm not running out and entering any loader or backhoe competitions by any means, but I can usually do what I want on the first try now.
So, I'd try to just dedicate some FEL time, even if you have to make the work up. I think that I got a pretty good eye at leveling the bucket from clearing lots of overgrowth in my woods by flat-pushing it.
