I know this has been talked about often. Does anyone see issues buying a low hour 309 B2601 it is a 2018 model with the L434 loader, 60" belly mower and rear quick connect. The new one has the L435 loader and 60" deck as well. The used one is $14,600 and the new one is $28,500 with 0% for 84. I would put the new one on my homeowners policy for the insurance coverage. I am going Kubota as the dealer is really good close to me about 5 miles from me at the most. The used one seems to be in good shape as used for mowing and light duties with the bucket.

No brainer - save $14K and get the 300 hour nearly new one, it may need the 300 hour SUDT fluid change, for $300 range. That is a great deal - buy it or put a deposit, subject to inspection etc.

Please post pictures of the 309 hour machine..

I've got the older model.
It's a nice tractor, I don't miss the quick attach loader that is part of the new offerings, but I have several tractors.
The machine I have is also very low hours, but had no belly mower (I don't have use for one either), rear snow blower instead.
I paid just a bit less than your number. For some reason I trusted the private sale seller as far as mechanical condition goes. Came with receipts for the service work done at the dealer. So far, so good! Handy size!

Does the 2018 used machine have a QA bucket (skid steer type) or pin on bucket? If pin on it limits the attachments - forks, etc. but you can add the QA set up if you need it, $1500 or so

It has the LA434 loader and looks like it has the flip handles on the bucket. Also why do so many front wheels need rewelded. I have looked at several and 1/2 seem to have broken front wheels welded back on.

Broken wheels are a result of overloading the FEL!

We tend to think the FEL can lift anything.

A lift of wood pellets is 2000 pounds. I don't have a FEL rated for that. But I have forks! ;-)

A hardwood log can get mighty heavy.

And then there is that full bucket of 1-1/4 inch and under stone........

CRAAAACK! there goes a wheel!

That makes sense. I only saw them on Kubota the most, I hardly saw them on the JD's I was looking at. Either way I still like Kubota. I am leaning on going with the used one to save the large amount of money. Even 309 hours really is not much for the year. The tractor does not look beat up either but the bucket is very used for sure.

I've bought both new and used. I'd consider the used tractor if it looks like a good unit. Current tractor was used and had just under 1,000 hour on it when purchased at the end of 2018. It came from a small used tractor dealer. He seemed like a good guy and my BIL was pleased with his L4740HSTC he bought there a year or two earlier. Even so, I was still a bit nervous about writing the check. The tractor looked like new and ran fine. Now 6-1/2 years and 600-some hours later it still looks and runs great.

The used one looks ok from the pictures and video. I was concerned mainly if the broken wheel on the deck was a sign of abuse? I tend to take very good care of my things and I know others are harder on things. The bucket on the tractor is very well used and the overall tractor was very dirty. The discharge cover on the deck is pretty chewed up for some reason and I would get it replaced. The 300 hours service has not been done yet not sure how much that costs me? I perform my own vehicle maintenance but this is my first tractor.
