bmaverick, now you make me want to go see the place.

Also i regret not getting a fredericks tractor. MIne runs fine and had a few minor things that were taken care of but i would not of had them on frederics. Also the pretty paint job is starting to fall apart and prep was not the best on the Vn just a quick repaint, and the color is not even right!!

I bought it and knew but dont know what i know now. I just didnt want to head all the way over to atlanta to get a tractor...but in the long scheme of things that would of been nothing.

Lucky for me I didn't have to travel much to check out a few Yanmar Dealers. Mostly VNer's though. A chop shop and VN pro In Norcross were nobody hardly spoke a word of english. Then a VN Dealer in Lawrenceville more or less backed out of the agreement we had. Started looking again and Spalding posted a CL. add. It was far enough from me that I didn't bother pulling or hooking up the Trailer after dealing with the Vn.Dealers.
Steve was great to deal with. And after going out and starting the Ym2000 which was ASIS. I had to ask him were did he get this at?? He did care to elaborate much. Didn't matter I left him a CHK. :D and agreed on a few details when to pick it up. When I couldn't use the 2000 and do things I could before we had a refurbed Ym2500 "Fredricks" purchased from Steve also. And honestly after owning and using both, the only thing I didn't care for at all Was the PTO Gear selectors on the 2500. Not so much for me but with other people using it. And the only problem I recall ever having with it was Operator error's which was easily corrected.

That was one of the PLUS benefits of a YM2500, YM2610, YM up the number range, the multi-speed PTO sections. I LOVE mine. Rather than run the engine at 2200rpm to hit the PTO 540, I just place the PTO section in #2 and the engine runs around 1800rpm. It saves on engine wear and fuel. AND depending on the hour-meter on the Yanmar, most have the conversion on the gauge. Other Yanmars not really. I could see people who have no idea about PTO speeds being a bit confused. However, many of the new tractors and the Kobutas have multi-speed PTOs. Some are two or three speeds. Our Yanmars are 3 or 4 PTO speeds.

Not that it had 4 speeds plus Rev. And for me even to recall but I believe it may have had 5 plus Rev. and then useing 2 shifter levers to select the gear I would have to look hard and make sure I moved them right.:confused2:

That's the reason why I passed up the YM2500 and went with the YM2610. The YM2610 with PowerShift is really a YM2500 or aka the John Deere 850. :) Thus, less shifting keeping my mind on the work rather than gears. ;)

I too found that one in Lawrenceville. The were very short winded when i spoke with them. I bet they sold bunch as they advertise in GON ALL the time.
That other VN shop you mention isnt it just down the road from your house or was?

I think I know who your talking about if it's close to me. I mean like within 5 miles. The last time I was that way there wasn't anything out front or a Sign anymore. I have a MD.appointment in a few wks. and I'll make it a point to look.

yea it was pretty close i think. Maybe a building up on a hill and a few of those metal carports, near the road, with some yanmars under it or either pushed over toward the property line?

Bmaverick, I had my heart set on the 2610d but I just could not reach that high. I have been catching cattle for market and crunching numbers just to get the 2210d. 4wd was a must for my place and that really added to the price. I hate to subject my future 2210d to my place but I certainly have a lot of important work cut out for it.
I want to say that if the VN tractors were considerably cheaper they would likely be a good value. I would have passed regardless due to the amount of hours I will have to work it and the fact that I finally understand that for ranches and daily use/heavy use, it is often the case that cheaper stuff is often really more expensive.
