Tractor
Mahindra 2816
Okay. Just got this tractor a month ago. I new there would be a good sight with ideas to modify it. I WANT 1 or 2 rear lights, front brush gaurd with lights, and a top. I picked this tractor up as a repo with 15 hours. What would you guys say would be a fair price. The tractor was bucket and tractor only. I bought the bushhog here local

Been working on getting the pasure in shape. I was really grown up. The strip in the middle is a creek. I still have to work on that area.

Good looking machine. Keep those pictures coming. We're picture junkies on this site.

Price, I paid $14,490 plus TTL new. Just for the tractor with loader. You really need the brush guard, I dont have one yet, and already bent the front grill with a limb. Work lights are really nice. You should check out some of the rear remotes some of the other members have installed. I want a hydralic toplink. And maybe a toothbar, and maybe a money tree too.

I think a got a great deal on mine. $11,000 out the door. Had 15 hours on it. You see the picture. It was mint. It was a repo in Florida. I had to drive down and get it. Oh and lights should be on by the weekend:D

Sweet deal! You have been blessed with a very low price on a very good tractor. I could not be more satisfied with my Mahindra 2615 hst. I have about 425 hours since new in 2005. I've had no major problems. The Mitsubishi built tractors have a long history of reliability.

It looks like you have the same Bush Hog as I. Another great brand of equipment.

I used that hole that was already there. It is 8mm. I found a Grote (light Company) L bracket that worked perfect. The slot in the L bracket fits the carraige bolt sqaure perfect.

Where did you wire the lights for power. I've been wanting some light on my tractor but havent had time to tackle the project. Also, what about a switch?

Folded down in the wires going to the flashers is two wires. (right side behind the seat) that is the hot and ground for the work light. Atleast on mine. I just grounded the black wire. And ran the red to a toggle switch and then two wires from the lights back to the switch. Very simple.

I mounted three hooks on my 2615: center and one in line with each loader arm. I did not think it wise to go outside the loader arms due to safety concerns.

Well that was just a mock up. I still had to pull everything of to prep the area for welding. I also plan to drill some holes for some plug welds. I did move the hooks though. I still did the same configuration just closer to the arms. I put one on each side of the arms 4" out. I know the limitations of the tractor. I would rarely pull from just one side but what if it was something just 200 lbs that you could only use one hook. I think that would be fine. Honestly I don't have alot of stuff to pull. I saw this mod on here and just thought I would go ahead and have it if i need it.:D More pictures soon!

Most people use angle, but that plate looks like it will work out just fine. As far as having hooks out at the outside edges of the bucket, with :2cents: of common sense you will have no problems. Just another reason to have more than a couple of hooks on the bucket. I have 5 on the 7520 and 4 on the 3215, haven't twisted the loader frames or tipped the tractors over yet.

I have used my hooks far than I thought I would. I bought the tractor used. The top edge of the bucket was bent. When I had it straightned I added reinforcement and thought what the heck add three hooks. They are great to pull fence posts, small trees, load stuff on trailers, etc. I have since added a reciever hitch to the bucket.

Nice Tractor !!

I've had a used 2015 for a year now, but I love it, hope you're as happy with yours as I am with mine. The guys on this forum are great guys (and girls) and very knowledgeable.

Congratulations

Very nice project started there.

Question, did you buy the forged hooks with the loop on them and then grind the back surface flat, or are there hooks designed like that?

I plan on a hook on ether side and a receiver in the center.

Mike

You buy the hooks that way. There made to be welded.
