New 3010GST or used 3710HST?

Chuckles, I got a quote for a new L3710 HST, FEL, R4 tires, rebate ($1400) already subtracted, right there at the same dealer, of $21050. The cab is at least $1500, probably more with the heater, and work lights. That used one you are looking at is the hard side model, with soft doors. So you could say maybe $23K even by the time you are done. Not only are you saving $6k, you are saving $300 in taxes on that.

Well,

We just got back from our 20th wedding anniversary weekend, the kids didn't have a party and burn the house down, we had a great time, learned (reconfirmed) that living in Maine is the best, and we'll be headed up to the dealer probably Wednesday to pick it over and work the details.

Egad! Summer just sucks up the time like there's no tomorrow!

We bought the tractor and took delivery about a month ago. Planted a couple small trees, cleared a small area, plus mowed a bit of the field, re-graded the driveway, plus tilled a strip to make sure the tiller was ok. A couple minor parts missing (pins for 3pt hitch implements), and found we really could use the PHD stand, but all things considered, we're very pleased.

Then vacation came, recovering from vacation (lots of work). Maybe this weekend I'll get to buy a can for diesel fuel, lube stuff just for tractor, and whatever! Plus I want to try knocking down a tree or two with the FEL (6" to start).... seems easier to do that and grab the roots than to cut them down and then try to pull/dig the stumps.

Other near term projects include about 10 posts, some minor FEL pond work, mowing the field, clearing a bit of the woods at the top of the field, and of course.... a barn for the new baby.

I'd post pictures but the digital camera bit the dust. Maybe in a a couple weeks.....
