Mowing New 3320 Jerks & Lunges

I think you need to contact the dealer. If it's doing it on asphalt there is another issue. I would insist they make a house call on their dime to make sure you are happy. Wether something operational and or mechanical they have an obligation to make sure you are happy.

Get the cruse control. About $100 and you can install it your self. You will love it.

I will call the dealer, Im just afraid they will tell me that its normal or in some breaking in period, so i was hoping someone else might have some insight.

The 3320 already has factory installed cruise control, i tried it today and it works nice, but i can hardly cut my entire property with it on.

So with cruise control on it does not jerk and lunge?

Are you using the "travel pedals" like they are gas pedals?

Hiya,

If it was a car I would look to a bad throttle position or ground speed sensor. Since E-Hydro has both, I would venture to say you may have a sensor that is reporting bad data to the computer. It may also be a poor connection to the sensors.

Call the dealer, everything is covered for 2 years.

I ran the crusie for about 800 feet and it did seem stable, no jerks, but it was a limited distance, ill continue my testing and thanks to everyone for their input. Still hoping someone can comment on my original post regarding the raising and lowering speed of the deck and the control... I would so rather use the 3pt hitch lever to raise/lower the deck like my dad's 670, the current control sucks.

I have a 3320 e-hydro and learned that going up my steep driveway in B range I often have to ease up on the peddle.

Remember pushing down on the peddle simply increases the gear ratio. This is not like a "gas" peddle on a car. If the tractor is starting to slow going up hill pushing the peddle down jumps the gear ratio up, the opposite of what you want.

Instead you want to bump the throttle lever up and/ or ease up on the peddle. And you should have load match on, that "automatically" eases up on the gear ratio (like easing on the peddle) to keep the RPMs up.

To add to the cruise control issue: There are TWO types of cruise control for these tractors. Type one comes with the tractor and its OK. Type TWO is the "automotive" type cruise control and it has the ability to "bump" up and down and it offers "resume" which is the real deal.

I own this type two......and still have not found the time to install it. Upsets me everytime I turn the corner and want to hit "resume" DUH  One of these days I'll find a spare hour to do the install. ;)

I suppose the hydraulic hose for the deck's single effect lift cylinder is connected to one of the front quick couplers otherwise used for the loader (pic 2) so that you can use the loader lever to raise and drop the deck. So why activate the rear SCV ?

I don't mean this in a bad way but do you have any previous experience with a ehydro? I used a 455 and 855 before I got my 3720. There is a night and day difference with the pedal feel and I wasn't real pleased with my expensive tractor. The ehydro is kind of touchy for a new user and took me half a summer of mowing (72" mmm) to get used to it, especially when trying to mow fast.

If you have motion match try locking in your top mowing speed with the pedal floored. This way bouncing over bumps won't move your foot around and it changes the reaction of the pedal movement. -more travel but less speed.

Mine had a slightly out of spec throttle position sensor but that should only effect things with load match on. Mine had reduced speed until engine speed was brought way up.

Could try to re-calibrate the hydro pedals too but your experience sounds a lot like mine.
