Pajoube,

Thank you very much for the pictures. Your patience in buying yielded a PT with great design improvements. Enjoy it.

Your correct about the gas tank, ran out of gas twice. I will probably try timing between gas fills today (30minutes?) as I will be moving rock again. Running a full RPM.
The hose issue under the hood will be more difficult to work on but hope that I don't have a need to do so for a long time.
That is one very heavy hood.

MR,
No information from PT regarding the gas tank in the hood (lifting hood) other than the redesign for easier fueling. When testing the machine at PT we did lift the hood with full fuel tank without any leakage.
The house is a friend of mines. The neighbors have been teasing him about all the gopher droppings on his front lawn (rocks) so his wife who works at the University of Minnesota brought home the gopher sign.

I recognize the filter holder, and connections as Parker components. Parker has a filter replacement gauge/indicator for that filter holder, it threads into the inlet side port (currently plugged on your's). The gauge is a 2.5" Ashcroft #20W1005PH01B and cost $9.10 through Grainger, Grainger part number 2C492. The gauge simply reads filtration pressure. The green or normal range is 0-12psi and then beyond that it becomes yellow and red up to 60psi.
Filter replacement gauge

There are also various Parker filters available for that unit down to 3µm all rated at 20 gpm and they around $13.

Congradulations & Have fun with your PT

The pictures are great, but it's even better that you now have your machine. It's been a long wait, but I'll bet that first day moving rocks and dirt validated all of your research and planning.
Congratulations.

Terry did mention that they needed to move the fuel tank to the back because flipping the engine around made all the heat near the front, not to mention the lack of room after moving the battery and filter up.

Thanks Charlie,
I spent 8 hours on that machine today moving rock and dirt. Everyone else was doing the grunt work but I feel just a tired after I shut the 425 down for the night. My feet are tired doing that treadle work, unusual position for the feet and legs.
Would not have been to bad except for the hills to climb. Had to hang on to the ROPES even with the seat belt on.

So did it handle the hills to your satisfaction? I have a large hill on my property and I frequently climb it with the large bucket oveflowing. Yours is supposed to have even more powerfull wheel motors. I have to back off the pedal to get a little more power, but it still goes up well.

We dug a trench the length of the hill (cross hill) so that I could run the up hill wheels. This gave me some stability while placing the large rocks for a wall with dirt dumped behind. Talk about the pucker factor, more than once the back end came off the ground with a boulder weighing over 1000 lbs. Boulders were ok but taking the 10cu bucket fully loaded up the hill and then lifting to dump over the rock wall was not fun.
The machine performed to perfection. The limiting factor is the operator. By the end of the day I was so tired I was moving the lift lever in all directions but what my mind said.

Yeah, you have to be careful with fatigue... that's when things can get dangerous. Better to take a break, let the machine cool off while you re-hydrate or eat something, then go back to it when you are rested.

Sound like a fun project, though. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
