I have a new 4520r (24 hrs) on the meter.
The smell that comes out of the exhaust from having to keep the revs up kinda makes me noxious.
What can 1 do to get rid of the fumes?

Love the tractor, it does everything I need it to do.

I think you mean nauseous. Anyhow - which way is the exhaust pointing. On my tractor the upper two feet or so can be rotated in any direction.

Look for a clamp on end pipe that can be rotated away from the drivers area. Rather than a vertical exhaust - can a horizontal exhaust be fitted as an after market add on.

There is no product, that I'm aware of, that will significantly alter the smell of diesel exhaust.

Unless you go to biodiesel that is made from french fry oil............. now THAT would make me upchuck.

The Bransons have a front facing exhaust tailpipe that's not adjustable.

I find that my 3725 exhaust smells less after I have worked it hard. I did a bunch of idling recently while unloading the backhoe I bought from the trailer and hooking it up to the tractor and the exhaust started smelling more. It's not the usual untreated diesel stink which I hate, it's more like the smell that modern diesel road vehicles make.

is it fuel or tractor related? could you use offroad diesel

All diesel fuel dyed or undyed is the same.
My tractor exhaust don't bother me as much as my pickup does,
I can have a tractor running in a shed or garage for a few minutes with no problem,
let my little diesel pickup just back in for a minute to unload and can't stand it.

I avoid bio diesel due to cold weather concerns, but if your climate is better and you have it available give it a try.

Has the OP worked the tractor yet so it burns off any paint or other coatings inside the exhaust? What fuel, fuel treatments/dosages, and emissions are we dealing with?

By the way you're stating things, is the "smell" worse at high rpms, vs. low rpms or idle?

And I'm wondering too if everything is just so new, that "stuff" is still burning off of the manifold and exhaust.

---

And what fuel are you running? Are you putting any additives in it? Are you still burning off your tank of winter fuel? I notice a difference in the way my exhaust smells when running straight summer red dye, vs winter red and Power Service additive mixed in it.

I've talked to my local dealer about the soot cooker many times. He's told me that on his personal Branson tractor, when he lets his get to the point where the light starts blinking, he then takes it out and works it very hard to clear it. During this "work very hard to clear it" phase, he says his stinks with a heavy burning plastic smell. This lasts until such time as the cooker burns itself clear, and then the light goes out, and the smell stops.

Perhaps yours is in the middle of burning itself clear, and it will just take a while. As in being run for an extended period of time?

Maybe just take it out and road it down the road in high gear and run the beegeezuss out of it?

Is your dpf light blinking, or on?
