How did I ever make it without this thing?

Love those pictures arkhillbilly. Thanks. I went today and tested out a used MF 481. It was just too big. I'm sure there are a lot of tasks that it would be better for, but for right now, it's just too much tractor for me.

That brings me back to looking at the 4720. I just wish I could get my local dealer to give me a more competitive price. He did agree to come down to $30,000 (from the $31,400 that he originally quoted). That was after I'd told him that I'd gotten quotes elsewhere for as low as $27,900. Of course, if I have the tractor shipped here from that location, the price gets pretty close to the same. I asked my local dealer if the difference in price was accounted for by the shipping and he said that's not it because all Deere dealers pay the same for shipping, regardless of where they're located. hmm . . .

So far I've done only 3 hours of brush hogging with it. Plus, it is deer season....I have 1 tag left, when I fill it.....the work begins.

Man, that's got to be tough. Deer season and Deere season. Decisions, decisions.....

That's one beau-ti-full machine! During deer season you show be driving an orange machine in the woods for safety reasons but after deer season comes Deere season which is even more fun! And it looks like you bagged yourself one great looking Deere! Congrats!!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've got a quote for a 4720 w/ HST and FEL for right at $29K. Too good to be true?

That machine is far to pretty to use... don't scratch it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Very nice!

Hey Chip,

Any other options? Which tires and how many SCVs/remotes? I'm resigned to the fact that it's not a bad price you're being quoted, though I know there are some better prices out there. The best quote I got was from a dealer in Ohio -- around $27,900 with FEL, 3rd SCV, and R4 tires. Next best was in Giddings, TX -- $28,161 (as I recall) for the same setup.

The best I could do around here was $28,800 for that tractor with two mid and one rear SCV and R1 tires. R4 tires would have cost me another $400. That's right in the same neighborhood you're being quoted.

Good luck. Let us know if you decide to get it.
