Wow, I really appreciate all the feedback!

I spoke with my dealer about the hydraulic issues this AM and he offered to have a technician come to the house this afternoon. Unfortunately, I was out of town for work and my wife was not home. It sounds like they will be out tomorrow or Wednesday.

After explaining my concerns, the salesman concurred that something definitely seemed wrong and commented that maybe there is air in the hydraulic system.

I'll keep you all posted on what happens.

I'm actually kind of surprised at that fuel burn. I have nothing to compare it to other than my bx which is a 3 cylinder, but it seems I go much longer than that on diesel.

Regarding the quarter-inching valve, I fixed mine last night. Turned out the problem was just moving the stops a bit. The lever has to hit the stop and bounce back in order to work properly, and my "up" stop was a bit too far back, preventing the lever from returning to center (basically turning it into an up-and-down valve). The stops have to be right on the money. Too far in one direction and the lever won't return by itself. Too far toward the center and you won't have the flow to move the 3PH.

I guess a point of clarification - my hour meter reads "34.6" hours - but I know I've "had tractor running" WAAAAY longer than that.

~ 20 gal / 34.6 hrs = @ 0.57 gal / hr

But say if I have "worked with" the tractor for 50 hours - then it looks like this:

~ 20 gal / 50 hrs = @ 0.40 gal / hr

Either way - I'm spending - on average - maybe $1 / hr in fuel costs - and get SO much more accomplished! I guess that was my point - very low "cost of ownership / operation". (well - except for that hydraulic line I accidentally tore... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

Yeah, either way it's no biggie. I didn't realize that the hour meter (hobbs) didn't track acuratly to the run time.

Hmmm, actually they do, it isn't a certified Swiss Chronometer atomic clock but it is measuring time. One hour on the Hobbs should equate to one hour on your watch. The Hobbs is electric and runs at the same speed regardless of engine RPM.
Neither of my tractors burn much fuel. I watch the folks with the Sears units refueling constantly, one 5 gallon jug goes a long way with my Kubotas. J

Congratulations on your new machine ! I'm sure your dealer will remedy the problems you've noted . As to forgetting about folding the ROPs , Join the club /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I've done it 1.5 times . The first time I heard this wierd noise , stopped the machine and looked up to see my lights rearranged . The .5 time was about two weeks ago . Coming into the garage I noticed that my wife was looking at the top of the door . I stopped to see what she was looking at . I was about 1" from rearranging the lights again . Naturally I just casually shut off the machine , folded the Rops . Got back on the tractor and finished parking it as it was all in the plan /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
As Rogue mentioned earlier , a few of us are getting together on the 12 th of June . Speaking for the rest of the guy's , we'd be more than happy to meet you . John

Can we drive our tractors there (with the slow moving vehicle signs on of course!). I need to know soon so I can get started. I'm figuring it will be a long trip! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Koz, Good post. My dealer just dropped off my B7510 and left I have run all sorts of tractors and equipment in the past, but my first mowing was horrible. My wife said yes in a moment of weakness and I butchered the yard. Not a smart move on my part. My second mowing looked good. So the purchase was redeemed. My only mechanical issue was trying to get the mid PTO in was hard. They told me it was normal and the more I have used it the smoother it gets. It would be nice to have a cup holder and I asked if the arm rests for the 7610 will fit the 7510. They haven't called me back on that yet. I have no regrets in the purchase. I hope all goes well for you and your new machinery.
