Yes I have a mig. I am not ready to weld a bolt to it yet. The hex is not rounded out yet.

If they used green thread lock on it, I am going to try some heat to the plug with a small torch. I want to make sure I am not going to do any damage to the internal parts.

I think tomorrow I will try to get a short allen 3/8 drive. I have been getting a lot of flex do to the length of the allens. I may be able to put more torque to the plug with a shorter one.

I think we are working on the barn in the morning, so it might be a few days before I try again.

The suggestion to weld a bolt to it was more of a way to sink a bunch of localized heat into the plug to help break it loose. Actually, in this case, I would plug-weld a nut to the plug through the center hole in the nut. First step would be to fill the hex socket in the plug with weld, then plug-weld the nut to the plug. Then you could get after it with a six-point socket and breaker bar if need be.
