I haven't tried these, yet. I think they look like just the ticket. I priced them at $179

They combine Adaptive noise reduction, AM/FM radio, and the ability to connect to a cel, or other audio gear.

Well. Mrs RR sirprised me with these for my b'day. They are world class construction. The radio is awsome. I was worried about the "external battery" sounded like there was a battery pack dangling off them. Not to worry, it just means there is an easy access battery door.

The jury is still out on ANR. It works, but not as dramatic as we'd hoped. Maybe my 4310 isn't loud enough. I will sure give these a trial. I have very low vision, and rely on my ears a great deal. Don't want to squish anthing or anyone, important

Wow, Mrs. RR sure knows how to shop for her guy!
Anyway, I made a 2 hour trip to get myself a brush hog today (another story). After my deals were done at Tractor Supply, I figured my wife would like to do a little shopping at the Super Wal-Mart that was there. After inside, the notion came to me to see if they had any Worktunes. Figured they wouldn't, but I'd look anyway. So following my wife, she went into the back isle in the garden department and right to the Worktunes. I couldn't believe it - I guess that's why women do the shopping. Anyway, not the ANR's, but got myself a regular pair for $48. Pretty good deal I thought. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow (with my new brush hog).

Hey Prosperity, how'd your Worktunes work out. I am still trying to decide about the Alert unit. as I said earlier: The jury is still out on ANR. It works, but not as dramatic as we'd hoped. Maybe my 4310 isn't loud enough.

Mike, how is the AM reception? It sucks at best on the Worktunes.

Oh, Uh, AM, Huh? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Actually Mrs RR listens to AM, I will ask her! FM is what is tough where I live, and that works GREAT! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

An old thread I know, but I just bought the Peltor Alert and used them this weekend. Here's my $.02.

I was very pleased with them. The noise suppression was excellent and my FM reception was perfect. Really blocked out the drone from my weed wacker too. On the tractor you could hardly hear the engine.

The NR was cool and appears to work fine but it is sometimes just easier to take them off to talk. I would imagine if I wanted to be on standby to listen for something I was expecting I would leave the NR turned on and it would be a plus.

I was considering these for use with my 2710 and the weed whacker. Are the tools that I want to use going to be "loud enough" for the noise suppression to "kick in"?

Anyone know how the Peltor Alert compares with the Pro-Demension II?
