Sirs,

I am requesting the consolidated expertise of the hydro pros. If the good Lord gives me the time and wherewithal, I plan on installing about 1100 feet of rail fence with 6x6 P treated posts on 8 foot centers; roughly about 137 to 140 posts.

I plan on purchasing a McMillen X975, Hydraulic auger/phd which requires 6-15 GPM. My plan is to do either a backhoe mount (like Charlesaf) or front QA skid steer mount; these mounted on a Kubota 5030HSTC.

For the BH mount (on a Rhino 85 BH) I was going to use the curl circuit and let gravity hold the auger plumb. For the front mount option, I have a WR Long Electric/Hydraulic 3rd FEL circuit.

Does anyone here see any initial problems with either option?

Thank you

Either way will work perfectly.

I continued to research the options and discovered this regarding my FEL 3rd circuit (W.R. Long Electric/Hydraulic):

"NOTE: These valve kits are designed to work off the power beyond port of your loader valve to operate a hydraulic cylinder like what is on a 4N1 bucket or grapple. These kits are not sized to operate a hydraulically powered motor such as an auger or broom. "

That seems to have made the decision for me to place it on the BH curl circuit.

Another question: Is there any substantive difference in quality (or other considerations) between the McMillen and the Danuser hydro augers?

Thank you
