Picked up a Land Plane ( Grading Scraper ) last weekend to help maintain the driveway.

I will also use it to to level the lawn as I am starting

Good for you, I would recommend you get used to the landplane smoothing the lawn area first if possible. Much easier place to learn the ropes and correct the divots. A little trial and error and you can quickly get the hang of adjusting the top link to get good results.

Sorry I didn't get pics up sooner. Been out of town.

It was nice to finally have a smooth driveway again. Looking forward to getting the lawn all smoothed out once all the planning is down for the irrigation system.

I do alot of this type work, I recommend you smooth the lawn area first to get a better idea of the height to set the sprinkler heads. You can smooth it out again after the irrigation system is installed.

I would also suggest you make sure the heads are low enough you can drive over them without damage. I use the Hunter PGP series gear drive units and have installed the 12 inch pop ups for one of my customers with great success, I have these retracting below the surface about 3 inches. Makes maintaining the lawn much easier without fear of damaging the heads.

It looks like your new toy is doing a great. They do make a huge difference on a gravel driveway. Here's a video of us trying one out on a driveway that hadn't been maintained in over 5 years.

What I've found is, like Ted's video, you can run 'em without the teeth down first to see what it will pull up... I've used mine on some sorry looking drives and you'd be amazed how much gravel it will float to the top of the surface! Won't end up looking "just like new", but it will sure be a sight better than what you started with. If you've got bad ruts, then you can run the teeth down after a pass or two if the blades are enough to get it the way you want.

I really like watching mine work, the gravel spilling over the blades is kinda hypnotic. Just be careful that you don't run out into the road watching it...

Congrats!

I am wondering how much you will use the rippers? It seems like most of land planes do not come with rippers...

I do not think I will use the rippers very much, if at all. But it is nice to have them if needed.

I was very surprised at how much material it brought up to the surface after just 3-4 adjustments to the top link.
