( Hi - saw an ad in the nickel for farm equipment. Ended up buying a side-by-side disk and a 6 ft 360-degree rotating blade. There is an id plate on the disk which I will attach a picture of. Just curious as I am a newbie to all of this if I got a good deal or if the equipment is good or not. I paid $50 for the disk and $50 for the blade. )

My only concern is if your tractor can actually pull a disc that big!!! That sucker is huge!!

Yes, I was skeptical at first as well. I believe it is a 12 ft disk. We had to load that disk on the trailer by hand and well, couldn't. We had to take a few cotter pins out and seperate the disk in half, then we could lift it just enough to get it on the trailer. I didn't think my tractor would handle it either but for $50 I was going to try. The 790 picked it up like it wasn't even there!! I was amazed. In the dirt you have to be in 4wd but it pulls it just fine. I'm only going to use it for the arena - don't have any other plans for it at this time. It sure does a nice job of working the ground. I am really impressed with my 790 - I absolutely love it!

Tyrell, looks like you got a good deal on the implements.

BUT, I did not get a good deal when I clicked on your Homepage.

All kinds of pop up ads kept coming, I could not get away from them until I logged off and now am back on line to send this.

Please tell me if I did something to start the "stampede" of pop-ups.
Or is that the way your homepage is suppose to work?

Wasn't Dearborn the implement brand of the Ford Tractor division in the 1940s and 1950s? Sort of like Deere's current Frontier line?

I'm not sure if Dearborn Implement Company was a Ford holding or not, but they did work with Ford directly to develop implements for their tractors after Ford and Ferguson began a relationship.

Dearborn
Henry Ford was born in Dearborn Michigan. This is where the Fordson facrory was built. After the split with Harry Ferguson a new sales organitation was formed, Dearborn Motors. Dearborn Motors also sold matching implements to 8N, 18 different all together.
Later the implement range was extended with the purchase of Wood bros. By 1952 400 different implements and attachments were available! In 1953 Dearborn Motors became a part of the Ford Tractor Division.
