Hey all,
Does anyone out there have one of the new b2301 tractors? I am currently waiting on one(for about 3 weeks), and just curious. I saw one person that has a b2601. The dealer I ordered from has a b2320 in stock, but I liked some of the features of the new one, so I opted to wait.... The dealer says the tractor will be in this Friday, ready by mid next week. I got it with a quick change loader and a box blade.

This is my first tractor and I bought it to move firewood, maintain driveways, clear snow, do grading in the yard, moving material, and as a toy. At this time I am not going to mow with it because I didn't want to spend the money on the MMM. I may pick one up when my lawnmower quits working.

Thanks!

I don't have one but I do like the size and capability of those tractors. If you haven't already, you might consider a rear finish mower (RFM) for mowing your lawn. They are much less expensive than MMMs.

Do post pics when yours arrives!

I will take a look at them ... I am sure I will like operating the bigger tractor better than my little cub cadet.

I will definitely post pictures when I get it.

Thanks for the help.

Here is the machine ... It came in around noon on Friday and I picked it up around 2. I am happy with it ... I put about 5 hours on it this weekend. We used it to move mulch and then took it to a friends place who has a lot more land than us. He also had a big track hoe to play with and dig dirt up. He would dig a bunch of dirt up and let me level it back out... what a crazy waste of diesel fuel, but we had a good time. Our wives just stood there and shook their heads at us ... :)

Nice tractor! Tell me about the folding arm rests on the seat? I got a new L2501 a few weeks back and my seat does not have arm rests.

Very cool tractor! You should take some action shots as well.

I think that seat by itself was worth waiting for the new b series. The armrests are really nice. I am 6'5", so I put the seat all the way back. With the arm rest down, my hand is in the perfect place for the loader control. The operators platform seems a lot bigger on the 2301 than it did on the 2320.

Alright! Now I'm jealous! They should have added that to the L models too!

I did add one of those TSC generic seats with the short arm rests to my '52 Ford 8N tractor a couple of years ago and it is much more comfortable than the old pan seat that came on those. Also keeps me from feeling like I am going to get thrown from the thing, when I occasionally get to going too fast on the old machine. Ya'll know what I mean about the old tractors...they get sort of "loosy goosy" in high gear and wide open throttle :confused2:

I went and sat on the b2301 this past week and at 6'2" and 250lbs felt a little cramped. I also felt like my leg was laying on the pto engagement level on the left and it was hard to rock my foot back and depress reverse when on the HST treadle. I had to lift my food reposition with my heel then press down on reverse. the BX series felt much more roomy and ergonomic. Did you feel any of what I am describing?

To be honest, I didn't sit on a bx tractor. That could be the case. I only compared the older b to the new b. I can see where the HST treadle could be an issue for a lot of people, but I have really big feet (like clown shoes big, size 16) and it works well for me. I dont notice the PTO lever at all ... but I may be a little narrower than you (no offense), I weigh 220.

none taken brother, I used to be a much larger man (450lbs) so I take notice to silly things like this that others miss. Always bought my vehicles based on the same (no center consoles,no hand window cranks, with tilt wheel etc). Odd how certain things shape you as a person but that lever I think would drive me nuts but then again I may not even notice once on the tractor and mowing. I know I really want to upgrade to a B for the extra capabilities, clearance, etc but I just don't know if i am gonna make the leap. Honestly the BX has done everything ive asked it to and more thus far.

Here is a stump I picked up ... This was after I drug it up a steep incline with a chain ... it did the work no problem.

I was on the tractor a little bit last night, and now I know what you are talking about. I could see that lever being annoying if it hits you just right.

YUP, exactly in that sweet spot of "drive you crazy". Im gonna actually drive one before I make my mind up but thinking the price, taller stance, and things like that are going to keep me going towards the bx25 when I upgrade. Not ruling it out yet just not gonna buy into "bigger is better just because you can"

I am at a decision point. I really like all the b2301 can do...but I have a weird problem that you guys were kind of discussing. To me the seat on the 2301 makes me feel like I am way above the tractor. The wheel is at almost at my crotch. The L series I felt like I was getting into a F1 it was down so low but it felt okay because the steering wheel was at the right height (for me). The BX25 the wheel was also right around my stomach/chest. If I read it right you are taller than me did you notice this? Did you get used to it? Maybe the dealer has the seat on wrong? He said it was that high because of the back hoe turn around.

Any thoughts much appreciated. Need to decide soon.

I thought that about the b series tractors, old and new. I didn't sit on an L, or a bx, so I cant compare. I am used to it, now. I didn't think twice about it when I bought it ... just figured I would get used to it.

Thanks for getting back to me. Going to go out this afternoon and try them again. It was just odd, I guess if I had not sat on a bx I probably would not have noticed it. Going to see if they have 2601 and see if that is any different. Again txs for getting back. I tend to keep things a long time so I am trying to get this right.

I never noticed my B2601 seat being to high. No backhoe. Although I forget most of the time to tilt the steering wheel back down so that might be part of it.

Do you have the turn around seat needed for BH? The guy told me that is what made it so high. txs
