Hi Bill,

I've moved stuff similar to that and I think a couple of things can happen that hamper the loader's ability to lift it. One, stuff that is wet can create a "suction" of sorts between the bottom of the bucket and the material, this suction resists the lifting force. Two, taking "too big of a bite" and the bucket is "over-heaped" if you will. In the very few instances I've observed this, the loader had no problem with the material after a.) it was out of the material (suction broken) and/or b.) excess "heap" was "curled off" (it would've fallen off by itself as I traversed the yard...might as well leave it in the pile).

Compounding the above issues is I've found myself trying to lift the bucket AND curl at the same time, and as the diagram shows on the loader, this isn't a recommended operation as lifting force is greatly reduced.

Now, of course, it always is possible that your stuff is heavier in PA than up here in MA. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway you slice it, it's light years ahead of using a shovel. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
