Real men don't:

1. Eat quiche.
2. Ask for directions.
3. Wear sunglasses, they squint.

No, the radio would be a distraction for me.
However, if in the future, I need a radio, I'll
jury rig something.

Bill

I recommend getting the install kit, but the factory radio is ridiculously overpriced. You can get alot more stereo for $100 elsewhere. I find I use mine all the time, even when doing things like spring planting. The tractor is always nearby, windows open and tunes on. Sure makes the time spent doing chores go by faster.

Save your time & money. You won't be able to hear it that well if running an implement at rated speed due to engine noise and hydro whine. It really has to be cranked up.
It was a fun project for me to do, but I really don't get to enjoy the radio much if really using the tractor for something.

Really? Admittedly, it's not like listening to a stereo in a passenger car, but I use mine all the time while snowblowing and mowing. Usually some rock for blowing, something a little more wellow for mowing. I feel the noise levels in my snowblowing videos are pretty accurate. You do have to get over the noise of the tractor, but I really enjoy the tunes while working.

Maybe you are just too old??:laughing: ;);)

When I had the headliner partially removed to install the rear work lights, I took someone's advice (maybe you, Ductape?) and put some foam rubber behind the headliner mounted speakers.
There was some improvement. In fact I had the stereo on while snowblowing twice in the last few days. I could hear the stereo OK, maybe I was expecting just a little too much before. With the tractor's inherent in cab noise levels, the stereo experience shouldn't be expected to be first class. It is what it is. A tractor running at over 2,000 RPM's to power a snow blower, not a living room. :D
Got no reason to complain when the temp is in the teens and I'm enclosed with heat and music while doing snow removal.

With regard to high engine noise levels inside cab my dealer told me Kubota is coming out with a quieter, improved version of the B3030HBSC {might be called the B3000HSBC.}
Anyone know anything about this?

Would be nice if they offered a soundproofing retrofit kit.
If not...
if Kubota is able to add more soundproofing to the new cab, couldn't we add soundproofing to B3030HSBC?

What products could be used, and where would they be installed to provide more soundproofing?

Thanks

The new B3000 is due out pretty soon, though I haven't seen any actual date they are supposed to hit the dealer's lots. I have not seen any info on anything Kubota has done to make them quieter. The 3030 is definitely not as quiet as the Grand L cabs....... i'm sure it's a cost / benefit deal on Kubota's part. How much do they want to spens to make them 'X' decibels quieter when they are the only manufacturer to offer a factory cab in that class tractor anyway. I'm sure they don't want to make them so expensive as to make them unaffordable.

As far as adding some sound deadening material yourself....... you will find different options anywhere higher end automotive stereo components are sold (Dynamat, etc.).

Does anyone know when new B3000 is supposed to be out? Thinking of a B3030 w/o cab , just wanted to know if I should wait.

I hear by spring, maybe March / April ? Though I haven't seen a single 'spy photo' nor any photo from anyone who works at a Kubota dealership who has been to the dealer shows. The has been talk of the B3000 since last fall. I would expect a tractor largely the same as a B3030 with some swoopier sheetmetal and a more compact loader with more curved arms.

 Are those file photos of a 3030? If that's the B3000....... I'm disappointed in Kubota. It's a 3030.:(

It is virtually identical to the B3030, reading the specs.
The good news is that it sure doesn't render the B3030 HSDC obsolete. I won't have to rush out and buy one.

Looks like just a horn and added insulation, I was kinda hoping for a cab more like the L models. If we can buy the added insulation and anything else they have to make the cab better its a plus for us that it's the same cab.

Well, I see they do have the Kubota backhoe on one, if that is important to anyone. I suppose it makes me happy that my 3030 is not going to be old hat this year. :)

Congratulations on the new cab tractor...you sound like me. i simply had enuf of looking like a snowman. it was my wifes idea to go get the new tractor. mine came with an am/fm/cd/mp3 player, but i doubt ill be using it....im sure it will be too much additional noise

The better solution to music while you work is an iPod with a good pair of aftermarket "in ear" sound isolating head phones. These provide just enough removal of the machine noise, without totally removing your awareness of the tractor, while providing your selection of music (rather than the worse than mediocre state of commercial radio.) Otherwise, I wear ear protection for long jobs. It's a proven fact, loud noise over time results in stress, fatigue, and hearing loss.

Quarter-inching valve on the B3000HSDC vs. position control on the B3000HSDCC.What's up with that?

I noticed that also. Seems very strange to offer a lower priced cabbed premium B w/ quater inching....

Wonder if it keeps the treadle pedal. Now that I'm fully used to it on my BX23 I much prefer the treadle pedal over separated pedals.

It also says it has a smooth running 4 cyl. Wonder if they've backed the timing back down?
Or installed more isolation between the operator station and engine/frame?

A cabbed B3030 is on my future upgrade list. Any and all upclose and personal info on these new B3000HSCC etc will be highly anticipated. At this point I don't know if it's an upgrade from the B3030.

Well the way I look at it is
First of all a B3030HSDC model is not a junky machine in any way, it has a very good track record it only has a few short falls. They are Horn, Cab Noise, unable to put on a Kubota backhoe, engine vibration, although I don't notice that on mine. The best news of all is they kept the hight the same so it will fit in a 7 foot door. You can bet I'm going to try one out just to see how much of a difference there is.

So what they did was perfect an already good machine. I'm sure the current B3030 will only last till the inventory is gone.

Now the ultimate B3000HSDCC would be if the new model looked like a miniature one of these that would fit in a 7 foot door,

Tell me how cool that little beast would look in the driveway especially with me in it.
::cool:

I also wonder if the rear wheels are spaced a little wider so you can install chains without the use of spacers.
