2011 KUBOTA L3200 W/ LOADER, BH77 BACKHOE
Back in April I posted about a new business I started with my Kubota L3200 w/ BH77 backhoe. Things have really taken off since then, and I have added one more piece of equipment to "Diggin' it" LLC. I bought an old 1975 Chevrolet C50 dump truck since I was hit constantly with folks wanting dirt moved out or gravel/dirt moved in to their property. Now I can be self sufficient and not depend on another dump truck owning contractor to haul materials! I did a lot of work to the Dump truck and decided to share a before and after picture of what my newest "toy" looks like. (she can haul 4 tons easily) :

Wow! Good for you, and nice job on the truck. I read the original thread you did about starting a business and it's good to see things working out for you. Best of Luck. Donnie

Truck looks good and congrats on the business being successful. Good choice going with an older piece of equipment instead of buying new or newer and having a payment hanging over you, it's tough with a new business and equipment payments.

Awesome man. Does it have a hitch to move your equipment around too?

Yes it does have a hitch RedNeckRacin! I still have to install the electric brake control unit, but I'm getting there....slowly! (lol)

Thanks wmonroe! It certainly IS tough having equipment payments. Best part about this deal was that I only paid $1,500 for the truck with NOTHING wrong with it. Everything worked and aside from a few rust spots it only needed a little TLC and I serviced every part of the truck to be sure it was safe. I have put about $800.00 into it with upgrades, servicing, etc. So I'm only in about $2300!! I used my earnings to make the purchase / investment.

Great to hear the business is taking off!!!! Seems there is a LOT of people looking to have smaller jobs done and your setup would be perfect!
Good work and nice truck!

Nice, Real nice, I like the idea of a smaller truck like yours, you can go in tighter spots with it. Looks like your all set, all the best to your new venture.

Cool! We have had more than one customer start with one tractor (bx25 comes to mind) and progressively grow into bigger and bigger equipment.

If you treat your costumers right you'll have more work than you can handle.

Way to go, Pappa! It's awesome to see somebody start up and make it work (both the physical stuff like the truck & and the financials). Best of luck as you grow your business!

Glad your business is continuing to do well. The small jobs that the big guys don't want is a great niche market to be in. I had a neighbor who worked for his parents' construction company. He started doing the small jobs they didn't want and did them on the side. He has since left their company and formed his own.
