Just curious, JT1972: are you a NH dealer or salesman?
Is there a reason that you haven't filled out your profile?

JT1972 - I welcome any info, but not clear on what this comparison is. Can you give me the models? The Kubota info listed is not correct for either of the tractors I am looking at and I'm not sure what model of NH you are referring to either.

Bill you are just too darn skeptical . . . besides anyone can cut an paste the features from the NH website /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

All kidding aside, given the compramises that need to occur on this property over the next couple of years, Kubota might not be the best fit because there is a big gap between the B series and the Grand L series machines. There is the L3400 but it really doesn't compare in terms of feature sets. The desire for PTO horsepower, but the eventual need for smaller size for long terms jobs is what prompted me to point out the TC33. In terms oh HP it runs just a bit higher than the L3130 but in a package that is going to be between the B3030 and the L3130 with sophistication that is not found in the L3400. I'm sure there is a current model from JD that might also be a darn good fit, I just am not really up to speed on what their new model numbers are.

Surely wish I had your delema. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I make do on 68 acres with a little Kubota B7100. Move rocks, haul logs, dig stumps, build roads and cultivate about 7 acres.

For your work I'd seriously consider a tractor of the B7800 size. Slower at first but more adaptable for the long run.

My only suggestion would be to go for loader abilities as it would appear to be the most used on the initial preparation.

The Information posted would pertain to the TC29DA and TC33DA. Compared that to the B2910 which is now the B2630 and B3030. They have bumped the 3pt lift but the creature comforts haven't changed. Check out the toolbox, and cupholder on the B3030, these have changed.

Bill,
Am neither a NH salesperson or dealer. Just have an interest in tractors and their is a ton of differences if you are a novice to the business as I once was. Just like to make sure apples are compared to apples. I just got onto this site, location is nortwest ohio, near Bryan. Will update

Jerry,

With that bio, I'd say your credibility just went up. At least with me, anyway.

Welcome to TBN. I'm sure they will value your input in the NH forum.

I talked with the NH dealer today and it sounds like the TC33DA is a nice machine. It is almost identical to the L3400 in size, weight, and HP, but has some of the nice features included on the 3130. The FEL capacity falls between the L3400 and L3130. It is almost the same price as the L3130, which kind of suprised me. They don't have a 33 in stock, but I am going to look at a TC29 on Monday to get an idea of features, feel, etc.

I'm a little biased here, owning the L3130, so take this all with a grain of salt... you will never be sorry having too much machine in the early stages of your project. The larger machine will also be able to do the small things but the smaller machine will simply not be up to the big jobs. During the early project stages the machine will work hard and definitley some of it's life and tightness will be used up. The smaller machine would suffer more so. If you start with the larger machine you will know within a year if it is just going to be too large for the future.
To have the best of both worlds consider this... buy the big one (L3130 really isn't all that big) and use it well and keep it if you find it suits you...or...trade it in after a year or so for a smaller one and get some attachments with the difference in value.
Best of luck,
Martin
