I have a BX24 with 70 hrs. on it . I was trying to take the mmm. off and it wouldnt come all the way down . Started to check things out and found the left lift arm for the 3 point hitch was broke and bent down hiting the frame so the hitch could not come all the way down. It was craked and bent right were the splines start. somthing must have hit it on the side were it connects to the rod that works the hook up for the mmm. but there is not a mark on it. The dealer told me to bring it back and they would look at it to see if they could repair it under warranty. I had a BX2200 i abused and it never had any real issues. This 24 is alot cheaper made on alot of things. the cover around the battery will not stay in place . I looked at a few more on the lot and noticed they were all the same . Dealer said kubota was working on a fix for it. and it creeps forward if left in gear idling, man at the dealer said kubota told them not to adjust this out.?????, but it says in the manual to adjust if it does this.? If i can find a camera i will take a pic of the break ,and post it.

Sorry to hear about your problems! I guess this is the first year of the BX24, and it seems every new model of anything has it's glitches. I bought the BX22 the first model year. I would have thought since the 2200 had been out for a while, there wouldn't have been issues. It still had the air cleaner bracket issue and the steering issue that I had to have done under warranty. Overall, it has been a great tractor. Your BX24 will probably be the same, but it is always upsetting to start out with problems. I can't imagine that it will not all be fixed under warranty!

Wait till you see what the rear fender will do if you put weight on it. There was jsut a thread about it 3 days ago. It'll crack at the bottom where its molded to the deck, or floor plate.

I think my desire to get the BX has been dimished considerably because of threads like this that seem to be almost weekly around here.

I wouldn't get too down on the BX's. They are great little machines. But new models are subject to the same kind of bugs you see in the automotive industry. That's why it is usually a good idea to wait at least one year before buying a new model. Let someone else find the problems and give the manufacturer a chance to fix'em.

That said, I'm not surprised that Kubota is making use of more plastics, however, I am a bit surprised that Kubota let this one get out into the market before noticing there was a problem. It would seem to me that when re-engineering a structural component they would have instituted a rigous testing regiment which would have allowed them to discover a problem like this early on. Between warranty repairs, re-engineering and retooling production, I'm sure it will prove to be a VERY expensive oversight.

I did not seem to get any of those bugs on my L3830 HSTwhich I purchased the first few months it was out.

Maynard's tractor creeping problem may be fixable, based on my experience with a Kubota ZD-60 tractor/mower. The owner's manual stated that the creep speed in neutral drive position is intentional to help restarting on hills. That didn't matter to me, so I read the tractor service manual which contained detailed instructions for how to adjust creep speed. I adjusted it to zero. Now, when I put the hydrostatic control levers in neutral position the tractors doesn't budge.

I don't see why you would not adjust the creap?!

I do agree about the cover around the battery. It almost takes two people to get it on and lined up propery. There are good and bad things, the hood latch is much better now, and the gas strut is nice. We've not had one thats cracked yet, but I do see how it could happen.

FWIW - I've got no problems with my BX24. The creep is easily stopped by ever so gently tapping the rear pedal. It stops it dead.

As for the fender - I just went out to the garage and hoarked on the both sides... man - you gotta have some SERIOUS weight on there to break it... I was more concerned with the handle's coming off than the fender breaking. From my perspective - fenders are fine.

My question about the 3pt arm would be - did you have the BH attached with the deck... manual says you shouldn't... now I noticed that when I have both on - the clearance between the lift arm and the BH platform is only like 1/16th an inch or so... is it possible you have the BH attached when the mower was attached and you raised the deck - catching the arm under the BH platform?
