Kubota BX1500, Cub 2186
Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. This coming Friday my dealer delivers my new BX1500 with 54"MMM, FEL, rock teeth, turf tires with loaded rears. This is probably a little bit of overkill for 1.2 acres, but (1) you can't have too much tractor and (2) once the wife said yes I had to run out and buy it before the effects of the ether wore off! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It is not too much for 1.2 acres. I have a 2200, FEL, landscape rake and 48 KK tiller, 60" MMM, and still wanting to add things to it........and I have just under 1 acre that is mine. Add in the neighbors part and it is about what you have.
I find tractoring the most fun one could have while pretending to be working on something. But dont tell the wife.

Projects include, starting over in the "yard", starting over in the field area, pond........wally world has it, barn, self standing fence with flower bed under it.........not yet started..........redoing the flower beds out front.....FEL will pay for itself again there.

Point is, you can never have to much, and your 1500 will seem to "need" attachments.

good luck and congrats /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cool bro. Got the same one.
Advice, take it easy for the first 50 hrs. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Also, on low idle, all BX1500's run REAL rough. So just move the throttle up a few hundred RPM's and it goes away.

To stop the hideous metal on metal noise mine made at low idle, [hood contact] I opened it to see the rub spots. I put on some rubberized door stops [circular] from Hope Depot right close to where the hood latches.

This tractor will definitely surprise you. Had more grunt than I thought for using 3 pt. imps. like box blade, etc......

Good luck..... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

A little late for my follow-up, have been busy playing with my new machine. So far I've moved about 15 yards of fill, removed the loader, installed the mower and cut the lawn, removed the mower and reinstalled the loader. BX1500 is an impressive little machine. Even with turf tires it does really well with the loader as long as you keep it out of the mud. I cut my entire lawn at 1/2 throttle - no problem it cut like butter - as it now has only 17 hours on the hobbs. The only inconvenience was leveling the deck - it was way off on delivery - but the advantage is I learned something in the process. I'm very happy with this machine and would highly recommend it to anyone with an acre or two that is considering a garden tractor - buy a BX Kubota instead. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Glad to hear your happy with the performance and having a good time with your BX1500. That is the neatest little tractor. I drove one around the dealer's lot a couple of weeks ago and was impressed! I didn't want to get off of it! I have done a lot of searching on this site on the BX1500 and the only negative things said were from people who never owned one, or even operated one. Sounds like those that have them, really love them. I sure haven't found a used one for sale anywhere, and every dealer I have talked to has not had anyone trade in for something bigger, unless they wanted to go to the BX22 for the backhoe.

Could you tell us more about it? How did you get a toothbar for it? Did you have to get a special bucket or is it a bolt on? Could you post some more photos when you get a chance. (thanks)

Have fun, I'm jealous /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Its never to late for an update. I've got over 65 hours on a BX1500 and never once have I thought it was a mistake. Going to the rental yard everytime I would have needed machinery would be the mistake. My 15 has FEL, FM, AND BB.
All have worked well around 1.5 ac. And they will still work some more as it seems there is nothing that bothers the tractor, not to mention ideas for its use. My wife even operates it when she needs a break. Idle, yes that's true if you increase it a bit she'll smooth out nicely...wife & tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If you ever want a tiller, CCM hastillers that are designed for BX Kubota's . They have a clutch, gear driven and will offset if needed.

I have had mine BX1500 for right at a year now. It is a great little tractor. I don’t regret buying it for a minute. Some will say you should have got a bigger tractor or a wider deck while you were at it. While I understand their reasoning, if this machine is MILES above what you actually NEED then why buy more? It’s like buying a computer, you can always spend just a little more for the next faster machine, but each person has to decide for himself what is enough and draw the line. Like was previously mentioned, the 2-cylinder will vibrate at a low idle. Just keep it at a fast idle so it doesn’t shake itself apart and you will be fine.
