I fully understand what everyone has been saying about the
BX22. Mine came today, and yes, its all quality, kinda hard to believe its priced like it is, I better shut up before Kubota hears me and jacks the price , I dug a 5 foot deep 30 foot long trench today for gutter drainage, it digs great..and quick.

( I format the pics in "jpeg" format. Is there another way to compress further?? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

There are two things that need to be looked at relative to file size. Compression ratio and the "pixel size" of the picture. Increasing the compression ratio and reducing the physical (pixel) size of the picture accomplishes the end-result...a smaller file. (Many cameras do not offer much or any flexibility relative to compression ratio, so reducing the picture size is the first step and/or using an external program to process the photo is generally a more efficient way to deal with things)

I have had great luck with a freeware program called Irfanview. All I do is tell it to resize the picture to 640x480 and save it as a JPG and it comes out under 100K every time. Clarity isn't too bad either. You can do a web search for it and download it directly.

Here's a sample of one I did that with.

I noticed in the owners manual for the bx22 that you shouldent run the engine at full throttle until atleast 50 hrs.
does everyone adhere to that. I assume engine damage could occur??

I do. I'll run it up around 3/4 to 7/8 and I haven't needed more than that anyway. I'll be over 50 hours soon but probably won't change the way I operate it much. This is on my BX2200 (same engine).

rbarker:
Thanks for the info on IrfanView, I downloaded it and it works very well. It sure beats sending myself an e-mail using windows just to generate a smaller pic so I could then attach it to my upload to TBN. I can run a tractor better than a pc.
