New BX23 Owner!

Congrats on the new BX23!
I purchased a new BX23 a few weeks ago to replace a BX2200. My old BX2200 had turfs and the new BX23 has ags. When the 60" MMM is in the top raised position, the right rear Ag tire rubs on the deck. This never happened with the BX2200 and turfs. Do you have the same clearance problem with a rubbing tire on your BX23?

Everyone with a BX22/23 with bar tires has the same problem, or one like it within 1/32". I suggest that you either readjust the deck or just lower it slightly to eliminate the problem. Not worth loosing much sleep over it.

I have never removed the FEL or BH on mine.
I have mowed my lawn several times with mine and it works just great with them attached so I don't see any object in removing them to mow.
Since there is no advantage in removing them why do it?

I will need to get the hoe off before I try to mow, it adds too much weight.

How do you know that when you haven't mowed with it on yet?

Never noticed it adding to much weight to mine when mowing.

I have the bar tires and there is about 1/4" clearance between the mower and the tires.

Since you've never removed the BH and FEL, you don't know how much smoother the ride is when mowing without them. Plus, I don't need an extra (and unnecessary) 1000+ lbs. on my tractor when mowing for safety, handling, maneuverability and fuel economy reasons -- not to mention the eventual rutting it will cause in the lawn.

L.B.,
Much of my yard has trees and a pretty good slope. I have driven the BX23 all over the yard and have gotten familiar with how it handles. It has a definite "bounce" to it from the BH being cantilevered off the back. I am very cautious on the sloped areas. I think I would be much more comfortable with it off to mow. But you are correct, I haven't actually tried it yet to find out. Although I got the BX23 with a mower, I still use my old Simplicity for mowing. I use the BX23 for digging and landscape work. One of these days I will get the mower back on just to try it. The other problem I have is I need to trim some of the lower tree branches for the ROPS to fit under them. I am in no hurry. I plan on having the BX23 for a long time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
