Dealer New BX25D-1 from Barlow

Competition is the key. During my search i considered an Ingersoll, looked at Simplicity, Mahindra, John Deere, and had the option to look at a handful of other name brands.

Thanks, yeah the driver (Marvin, who was a great guy) offered to put it on for me, but I figured we have a couple more to go before spring. Here's to hoping not too many.

Oh, and the initial "not sure what the h*ll I'm doing" pass up the driveway. The dog seems less than impressed:

I mentioned you during the unloading process, and Marvin simply stated: "John sells a lot of tractors for us." Thanks again.

Marvin is retired Army and a fine man. I told Steve about your thinking I may work for them and about me being rewarded, he and Jamey were eating lunch at the time and he just grinned. I don't do it for him but for fellow tractor buyers to get a decent price. Glad to help you save a few bucks to spend on implements and spread the wealth around to more people.
Again, congratulations on your purchase and read the thread on doing your own maintenance and save a couple hundred more bucks plus learn a bit more about your tractor.

Yep, did 4 years in the 82d as an 11b myself, so that came up. Like I said, good guy, quality operation. Couldn't be happier.

And this is the way a business should be. If you found 3 that offered decent service and acceptable prices in your small circle then everyone should be able to find a decent dealer. If not, then move on because they are out there. The bad ones need to be swallowed up by the good ones or get a decent new owner or operator. Let the good prosper and the bad do something else for a living. I'm not saying base this on one persons experience but a pattern of bad should produce the proper outcome as should a pattern of good.

Granted there are bad dealers, I have visited a few myself. But in the defense of dealers, I am not one before you start hollering. The internet has trimmed the profit margin on trucks, cars and tractors. A dealer can only hire so many sales personnel or lets re-state that another way, only so many sales personnel will work on commission when all they have to show for a weeks work is a bunch of "Quotes" prepared for shoppers, not buyers.

I have always found that a dealer or a sales person if they knew I was really interested in making a purchase more than willing to devote the time and energy necessary to finalize a sale.

Spent yesterday morning moving back snowbanks that probably didn't need to be touched, but it was a great way to get a feel for the FEL; sitting in bed last night trying to get to sleep and all I kept thinking about was "oh yeah, now I can get THAT done with the back hoe.. ditch that, drain this, plant those, move these, etc etc..." definitely looking forward to the snow being gone and mud season over with. I'm thinking my wife has more projects planned than I can even begin to think about. I think my 4 wheeler and garden cart are equal parts jealous and relieved.

Congratulations on your new tractor!

I guess I am lucky... my Kubota dealer is 6mi away, the two sales guys are okay knowledgeable and find the answer if they don't know. Even better the parts/repair department know their stuff, very helpful and fast. Always trying to help me whether they get a nickel out of it or not. Best, they offer me to borrow their trailer free of charge to haul my BX in/away whenever needed.

Howdy,

Have been a lurker here for a while, and finally decided to pull the trigger on a new BX25D-1, and went with Barlow's due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback I saw on here. It was easy, almost too easy really. Hoping to have it on a trailer and on the way up here to Vermont within the next two weeks.

Price was amazing, and the emails were always replied to promptly.

My experience with our local Kubota dealership couldn't be any more different; very frustrating when you have money to spend and no one can be bothered to help you.

Thanks guys, and we'll see you on the forum when this thing arrives (hopefully soon).

did you get a mower deck too? Mind me asking what your total price was...feel free to PM if you don't wanna put out to the world. Im wanting to upgrade myself from the bx2370 but don't want to call and waste their time with questions until I know its really going to happen. I hear they are busy people. Also wanna have price comparison in mind when I check locally too.
