New BX25D

Good day today. I picked up a new Sure Trac 14' 14k lb dump trailer. It's very well made, great fit and finish. I opted for the scissor lift, wireless remote, spare tire and best tarp kit. The only thing I might do is have a set of ramps made just like the originals, but in aluminum, getting too old to be lifting those heavy ramps, LOL. After picking up the trailer I drove to the Kubota dealer and picked up my new BX25D. Options were factory thumb, Bxpanded belly guard, 3 pt hitch, and Land Pride grapple. Trailer is rated at 3600 lbs empty, I figure the BX and accessories was about 3000, so 6600 lbs loaded. It pulled just fine behind the Expedition, it has factory tow package and rear air suspension. Actually got 10.9mpg on the 160 mile trip home.

I noticed something odd today about the rear wheels, they are both held on with 2 studs and 3 bolts per side. Never seen that before, only bolts. Perhaps they use 2 studs to hang the wheel from when bolting it up. ??

Common practice on tractors. Hard to manage a large wheel when filled with fluid for ballast.

Gotcha, thank you. Must be relatively new on the BXs. Not noticed it on the 2013 and prior.

Yeah, mine (2014) came that way too. I asked the dealer why, and he had no idea!

Love the setup, NEED the trailer!

Tractor with grapple and dump trailer was so nice last weekend. I had cut down 2 medium size trees to make room for the néw shed into 10' sections. Had the trailer loaded in no time, and the best part was arriving at the landfill, backing up to the yard waste area, and pushing the button on the cordless remote and watching everything just slide off. I've been waiting a long time for this, should have done it long ago. Thanks.

Nice, the best way to unload is by pushing a button.

Congrats on a great setup!

Kubota pictures are nice... but I would also love to see this car collection! Sounds awesome!

Picked up a few more accessories, so far I have:

Factory thumb
LandPride grapple
Bxpanded belly shield
Bxpanded chain hooks and slip hook
Expanded tooth bar
Bro-tek wheel spacers
Bro-tek ripper tooth (ordered today)

I'll pick up a BXpanded bucket expander in the Spring when it's mulching time.

Wow I wish that I could buy all of that stuff for my bx.

Atta boy! A man after my own heart! You just can't beat tractor toys, and I can't wait until Spring to try out my new Bro-Tek Ripper Tooth!😝

Yea, appears that Bxpanded doesn't sell to dealers. I purchased it and had it shipped to the dealer for installation. Figured it would be a good idea for them to install as they were installing the grapple. I've got a set of wheel spacers that I'll install, and have my Christmas list of other Bxpanded goodies. LOL..

Which 3rd function kit did you have installed to operate the grapple?

I'd really like to find a 7-8" bucket to trench for electrical lines, water pipe, etc.. I recall seeing some posts here that someone's brother built one that worked well, it was much longer and more shallow than the 12" bucket so not to pack up with dirt. I IM'd the poster but never received a response.

I assume you got your BX with a 12in bucket (I did)? There is an 8in version. Don't know what it costs separately.

If you check out Paul Short on YouTube (I can't remember what his TBN username is) he made his own "claw" and used it for trenching and stump removal. I noticed Bro-Tek has a similar attachment and an extra "plow" that you can add to it for the same purpose. I haven't seen the BXpanded one in action yet, though.

The device you speak of is not from BXpanded, it's from Bro-Tek and what I purchased. thanks

Correct, mine has the standard 12" bucket. The reports I've seen suggest that the 8" bucket tends to really pack up in moist soil, although I've not tried it. The one I referred to is about 2x as long and not nearly as deep and had 'vents' cut in the back as I recall. I'll try to find the thread. thanks

You're right. I had BXpanded on the brain because I ordered a PTB from them this week for my BX.

I'd be really interested to see how that tooth works for skinny trenching and root busting.
