Have to agree. Water is best.
At the Fire Station I used to work out of, they put signs up in the bathrooms. If you have to go, and look at the result, the yellow scale on the chart would tell you your relative hydration level, with recomendations on how much to drink depending on far you were in the darker yellow ranges.
Coke and Pepsi, both make good rust remover for froze up antique tractor engines. Imagine your tummy

Ah, we live in a great place for wines! El Dorado, Amador and Nevada counties have over 60 wineries.

I haven't done to many smart things in my life, but the last pop i had of any kind ( diet or regular) was in june 2003. Probably the best thing i've done. Just wish i had done it ten years ago and my teeth would have thanked me for it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

"Concerning red wine: I LOVE red wine, but the tannin in it also give me headaches -- so I try and buy wines bottled in France. I heard most wineries in France put egg whites in the wine, and as they fall to the bottom of the barrel they absorb much of the tannin. I have had reasonable luck with the French wines. If it's not from France, I try and limit my intake to just 1 glass."
Thats to bad. Here is a link that addresses tannins. I pretty much avoid anything French. I prefer American wines, especially those from California, Oregon and Washington, they just really taste the best.

I don't know, but I sure think those that have live very healthy lifestyles yet don't deal with stress adequately are at considerable risk as well. Smokers, the best thing California ever did was eliminate it from restaurants. I love it. No smoking sections in restaurants, really, must be smart cigarettes to keep the smoke constrained to the smoking section. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Really work well for cleaning windshields too. Maybe it's the phosporic acid.

Until about the early 1950's, Coca Cola contained peragoric which I believe is a derivative of the Coca plant which of course is one of our little cultural white powder controlled substances.
Coca Cola's marketing was driven around it's elixir effects and used to treat a wide variety of life's little ills: upset stomachs in toddlers and adults, teething pain, headaches, bloat, gas .....
I'm sure for economic reasons alone, perigoric was removed from the forumula.
When I have an upset stomach, I get a Coke, knowing full well it will provide absolutely NO scientific relief.

Junk ... hundreds of millions of our taxpaying dollars are spent each year on finding the origins of this condition. From what I've read, they have narry a clue on it's causes. The medical industrial capatilist machine being what it is however, huge profits are being made [and sometimes lost] by the pharmaceutical companies and investors on the recipe for curing them - even though they have a poor understanding of them at a basic level.
One soul who suffers from them swears on two things for relief:
1. Pinching and twisting of the ear lobe on the opposite side (if there is an opposite side of the localized pain)
2. Freshly used tea bags over the eyes (administered in the suppine position)
Go figure. I don't believe I've ever had a migraine headache, but I've had some that were pretty debilitating.
The best remedy for a headache for me is sleep. I hate taking nuprin, but if I have to be pain free quickly, I'll take a couple with some sucess.

I guy I work with gets them. His doctor told him that the prevailing medical opinion was they were caused by enlarged blood vessels in the brain. Current thought is migraines are caused by the same things that cause epileptic seizures. He was given samples of these meds to take when he gets a migraine. Says they work almost instantly.

I get migraines on a nearly daily basis (cycles anywhere from one a week to two a day) and can tell you that there are many triggers that sufferers experience. My biggest triggers are alcohol (1/2 a drink is pretty much guaranteed to bring one on) and stress. Other common triggers are chocolate, caffeine and other tannin containing products.

Must be one of the Triptan drugs. These drugs are incredible, there is just no way to describe what a difference they can make to sufferers. My migraine affliction has gone from the point of making my life nearly unbearable to being no more than just a slight annoyance since I discovered these.

That's a trick I learned as a rookie cop. Just pour a coke across the top of the windshield with the wipers on to remove the road film, especially on rainy nights.

The collection was owned by legendary Australian winemaker Max Schubert, the creator of Penfolds Grange.
