I guy I work with gets them. His doctor told him that the prevailing medical opinion was they were caused by enlarged blood vessels in the brain. Current thought is migraines are caused by the same things that cause epileptic seizures. He was given samples of these meds to take when he gets a migraine. Says they work almost instantly.

I get migraines on a nearly daily basis (cycles anywhere from one a week to two a day) and can tell you that there are many triggers that sufferers experience. My biggest triggers are alcohol (1/2 a drink is pretty much guaranteed to bring one on) and stress. Other common triggers are chocolate, caffeine and other tannin containing products.

Must be one of the Triptan drugs. These drugs are incredible, there is just no way to describe what a difference they can make to sufferers. My migraine affliction has gone from the point of making my life nearly unbearable to being no more than just a slight annoyance since I discovered these.

That's a trick I learned as a rookie cop. Just pour a coke across the top of the windshield with the wipers on to remove the road film, especially on rainy nights.

Don't you know that water is deadly stuff. Kills thousands worldwide each year. Water kills people of all ages without discrimination. How many deaths each year are attributed to soft drinks ?

Rare wine: $27,000 for the set

A WORLD record price of $27,000 was paid for the Max Schubert Collection of 38 bottles of rare Australian wine at last night's Tasting Australia Oddbins Wine Auction in Adelaide.

Other highlights of the sale included $13,000 paid for a single bottle of Penfolds 1956 Grange Hermitage. The same price was paid for a 1957 Grange.

Additional highlights included a half bottle of 1953 Grange Hermitage which sold for $3250 and a bottle of 1955 Penfolds Grange Hermitage that sold for $4200.

The collection was owned by legendary Australian winemaker Max Schubert, the creator of Penfolds Grange.

Oddbins auctioneer Stehen Lumb said they had expected strong interest from collectors and the world's food and wine media.
