New Competition for Kubota's BX Line

I happen to have a Mahindra Dealer close by. They just started carrying the Max Line of Mahindra Tractor. They advertise it as subcompact for the home owner. The Max 22 has 22 hp and can be equiped with a hoe. Watch out Kubota, they coming for your lunch!

Yeah, been reading a few of the Mahindra Max threads down in the Mahindra section. From what I've read, size wise it's closer to a B than a BX, though slightly smaller. Sort of in between, though Mahindra is aiming it squarely at the BX/SCUT segment. Hope to see one in three dimensions at some point.

There is a LONG thread on this elsewhere with a spirited discussion as to the validity of the SCUT label on the Max. It seems like there may be quite a few good options out there. I glanced at the JD 1026R yesterday when we dropped our 2305 at the shop AGAIN.

SURE THEY ARE.:laughing::laughing::laughing: Kubota has made them for years and another Company is just now starting to make them cheaper and going to be better? SURE THEY ARE.:laughing::laughing::laughing: I'll watch and see, stranger things have happened.
Course I own Kubotas and like them and could actually care less what Who? Mahindam is doing. Guess Kubota feels fairly good that they are the target to be aimed toward.

3*That's is why Mahindra does not compare the MAX to the B Kubota JD and other compacts because they know they will loose in such comparrisons.

I think the Max is a pretty good tractor for the money, and any competitors in that price range should probably take notice. If anything, it may compete more with the Kubota B series than the BX. I sort of think Mahindra sized themselves out of the true sub-compact market in this case. Generally, people looking at a BX are doing it for the small size, not $$.

yes...the small size/weight of my BX2360 is what i needed to NOT trench the yard when mowing but also have an FEL and rear implements. I would love to have a B for the clearancee, etc...however, the weight would tear up portions of my yard and i would still have to buy another mower...BX series has a market...and as previously mentioned, it wasn't a price issue for me (maybe it was, b/c i would have had to bought another mower).
