No, we're using Internet Explorer. Unless Direcway is something that is part of something else.

Direcway is a satellite internet service provider. The reason that I asked is that I use Direcway 1-way service, with a dial-up modem connection for outgoing traffic and the satellite dish/modem for inbound downloads, etc.
Beginning the first of June I was finding the screens here displaying with an unusual format (as your screen shot shows) and also having a lot of trouble with "server not found" screens. After dealing with tech support several hours over several days I finally resolved the issue. I believe my problem was with Direcway and their system connectivity, but the solution was related to my "proxy" settings under "tools", "internet options", "connections", "lan settings". Removed the check to disable the proxy and everything has cleared up pretty much. This probably won't have anything to do with your situation, but I was surprised to see the same screen again... Good luck with it.

Yes, for about 3-4 months, sense buying a new computer. It has happened on one other site. But, I don't remember which site, a tractor or farm site.

What does View --> Text Size show up as?

-Mike Z. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also along that train of thought Tools --> Internet Options -->
Accessibility? Those options under that should all be unchecked.

Inspector507 and I have the same screen picture. I have a 19 inch monitor with the setting at 800 x 600. I can live with the 3/8ths of an inch of blank space on the right side. I never really noticed it until I say it on the attachment.

It shows up as Medium.

All the other items that you mentioned are not checked.

Note: Also colors do not show up where they should. For example, your quote about the text size should be in blue, but on my screen it's in black. And the color table that is located the lower right of the window where you type your replies does not have any of the colors in it showing. The only thing I see is the question mark in the lower right corner.

I just tried changing my preferences in My Home. I tried all of the color schemes again (Kubota, JD, CAse/Farmall, etc.) and none of them changed anything. In addition, as I mentioned in my last post, not one of the color schemes showed up. The only color I get at all is in the TBN Banner at the top and in the sig pics to the left of the posts. I finally settled on the white with small letters in my preferences, and that made the reading a little easier, but it certainly didn't eliminate the blank area to the right. If anything, by going to that preference, the blank area is even larger. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

O.K. Here's another screen shot of the Main Index AFTER I changed my preferences to white w/small text. It is a little better, but certainly still not where it should be.

This one is from WinME with a 17" CRT set at 800X600

Looks like it's time to set your Display Settings to 1280x1024.

Dave,

That's what they are set at.

Gary,

Check your Display Property Settings. What resolution are you configured for? I'm setup with 1280x1024. From the Display Settings there is an Advanced button that allows you to set your DPI setting. If it is set LARGER than 96 dpi, this could be what is causing you grief.

Golfgar4,

One thing you might consider at this point is to utilize the "Remote Assistance" feature of WinXP.

Click on "Start">>click on "Help & Support" In the next window which opens, you'll see on the right side "Invite a friend to connect to your computer..." If you click that you can follow the instructions to have someone connect to your computer via your internet connections. With your permission, that person can actually adjust settings, etc on your computer. Obviously, you need to pick someone who is both knowledgeable and trustworthy, so you don't wind up with viruses/worms or loss of your own data.

Hope you get things straightened out soon...

O.K. A little improvement. The DPI was set at 120, so I changed it to 96. Attached is a screen shot of the MAin Index after this change.

It looks more normal, but still have the blank area to the right and no horizontal or vertical lines.

Hi Garry,

Well this is the first chance we have had to see an actual capture of the problem you are having.

It is obvious that your browser is not rendering the screen properly. However, you (and perhaps just a few others over the past weeks) are the only ones out of many thousands a day to experience this.

We all (Muhammad, Ibrahim & myself) all have looked at your captures, and we cannot determine from that exactly what would cause it. Neither can we reproduce the problem on any of our half dozen or so computers that we have access to. However, we are not running XP on any of them, which may or may not matter.

It "could" be the settings for your monitor. More likely, we think, is that there is some corruption of your Internet Explorer browser.

So, our first advice, and really the easiest thing to do, would be to reinstall your Internet Explorer 6 browser.

Go to the link below to download and install Internet Explorer 6 SP1. That will correct and repair any problems or damaged system files related to your browser. That would be step 1. If that fixes it, hurray.

If not, then you will have to consider your monitor settings, both your driver and system settings, and also the settings for the physical monitor itself.

Internet Explorer 6 SP1 Download

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

While your monitor "can" display at 1280x1024 settings, you are going to find it much easier on your eyes to use 1024 X 768. That will also fill more of your screen. With a 17 or 19 inch screen, you will rreally cramp down your icons, text and images to use that 1280x1024 setting. We design to a standard 1024 X 768 screen size, as do most sites these days.

I have XP on my Dell laptop and I have exactly the same problem. I have a UXGA screen, and when I change to lower resolution to avoid going blind from the small fonts, it looks fuzzy, and I get a message that says LCD monitors are designed for a particular resolution and recommends that I set it on the maximum - 1600 by 1200.

Switching the dpi to 96 helped keep the subjects from wrapping, but the text is so small I can't see it. So I changed it back to 125 where I can at least see it, though it is still very small.
