Excellent progress. How bad of a mess did the sheetrock crew leave your place?

Eddie, We got great reviews and recommendations for a local company (we can call Plan A), however, they were not available when needed so we went to Plan B. Plan B company pushed to provide insurance papers until the day before start and could not produce up-to-date insurance. We then went to Plan C - found a gentleman and his son who could do the work, was insured and we agreed to purchase the material and get going as we are now 2 weeks behind and winter is coming. Ended up that after 4 weeks into Plan C we were falling further behind and needed to pull the plug. Good guys, just could not get it done fast enough. As luck would have it, Plan A company had a cancelation and could fit us in. We finished 4 weeks behind schedule on the drywall part and while we would have liked a Halloween Temp. Occupancy, it will now be Thanksgiving. Going to be cold in that uninsulated, unheated cottage where we live during the build. We have learned to get the insurance papers early!!

You & your wife need to be sure to pat each other on the back each night. You both deserve it, although you've got the rest of your life to enjoy your efforts.

Kind of a lesson there. Stick with Plan A even if you have to wait a little longer for them.

Your prior posts with pictures listed the dates as Sept 2016. But your comments about make things sound like the construction is happening now. I'm confused...

Lots happening on this day... Just crazy with all of these balls in the air. Insulation going in, drywall going up, garage doors being installed, mechanical getting installed, and the well is getting drilled (they are at about 120' of pure beach sand today). I am working on the siding after I finish work and all of the trades leave.

Drywall hangers are getting behind so I pulled myself off siding and helping with the smaller scrap areas for drywall.

Need to get them going on mud tomorrow.

She works two shifts, the first shift keeping things moving and clean, the second one helping me. It is so great to have a clean and organized job site. She is awesome.
