Jenkinsph, thanks for the info - I'd love to see the pictures of your canopy lights. Does your Frontier 1284 have hydraulic scarifiers? I looked around the net, and found a used one that looked to be in very good condition for $3950 - does that sound like a reasonable price for one? I'm not sure I really need a blade that nice, but it would make a great rear ballast.

You've got some very nice property there, too.
If you have plans to pull a plow and/or a disc harrow - you should be looking for wheel weights or have your tires filled - IMO.
Leave the loader mounted (4n1 off) and you shouldn't have to worry about front weights.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing - I asked the dealer about loading the tires before he delivered it, but he thought I would be OK without loading them (either that, or he didn't feel like messing with it!). Anyway, I plan to ask his about doing it on site.
If I remember correctly, you can only add 3 - 55# weights per wheel, or a total of 330#. They were also costly when I had the dealer price them out (about $1/#?).
Toward the end of the deal, I was trying not to up the price any more, if you know what I mean. In hindsight, this is money I needed to spend.

I am not sure where I read it but it was almost mandatory that you have rear ballast on the 4*20 series. You can see from your video that you need some especially with that bucket.

On the 4x20 series the rear weights are 110#'s each and you can have three per side. I prefer this to liquid ballast primarily because weights are more convenient to deal with to me.
On the boxblade you should be able to buy the BB1284 new for about $3900 msrp. Very good unit with scarifiers, about 1250 #'s.
I included some pics of the canopy lights on my 820 for you and some older pics of the 4520 and boxblade. My helper is learning how to operate tractors and he prefers the ehydro already.

I'll have to work the dealer on a set of those canopy lights - they definitely dress it up quite a bit :thumbsup: Looks a lot better than the reflective yellow tape.
That is one hefty blade. I'd love to have one, but I don't think it's in my budget this year. I'll just have to buy some wheel weights for now, I guess.
Speaking of eHydro, it's definitely awesome. Last weekend, I was operating with loadmatch OFF, and the tractor bogged down a couple of times. Reading the owners manual last week, I figured out where the switch was, turned it on, and a great thing got even better.
I can't believe how much work I got done yesterday. As I'm getting more comfortable on the machine, I'm really finding out how capable it is.

mburke, you might wan't to consider a 3pt weight box these are compact and low cost. Very nice fel and bucket setup too.
