Someone did have some prices listed in the Yahoo garden tractor board.

Thanks Guys.

If JD thinks people will pay $12,599 for the X595 - L/C 25 hp diesel $ 12,599.00 - MFWD, they might be incorrect. I hope that is not just for the tractor only! You can get a BX2200, loader, 60 mower, and 3 -PT hitch for around $13,200.

I just think JD is to late with this tractor and the price will not be along side the BX. BX still wins the market.

Thanks
Mike

Mike, I believe those were "list" prices and included the 54" mower. The 60" mower for the current 400 series is about $500.00 more than the 54". I would expect the new 62" to be about the same. Again, I believe these are list prices so some discounting should be possible. But I expect these tractors to be in demand for at least a year so the discounting may be limited. When I compared list price for a 455 with a 60" deck to the list price of a X495 (assuming the 62" deck is the same price as the 60") they are about the same price. $1200 more for the 4WD option seems reasonable. I looked at the BX and thought it was a nice tractor. But for me I am looking for a large garden tractor rather than a small compact utility tractor. For my use the ROPS just doesn't work around trees, brid feeders, clothes lines, etc., even if it folds. I use my 4400 compact utility for the heavy mowing and loader work. My 445 works well for mowing around the house. I also have the front mounted sweeper and a smaller tractor works best for me. There are times where a 4WD tractor would be nice especially using any front mounted attachments. I like the larger frame design on the new X series. I am disappointed that Deere did not add turning brakes and a two speed axle like the old 420/430. I am sure cost was an issue. I think the new X tractors will be successful despite the fact they look like a Sabre from the front. Perhaps the look will grow on us but for now I think they are ugly from the front.

Don’t get my wrong, I love JD a lot. Hell I had a 455 and sold it. Might look for some deals on a new 455 when the new x-series comes out. I should not have sold my 455. It worked great.

I just think that for $12,599 for the X595 with mower is not bad; however, you can get the BX22000 with 60” mower and hitch for around $9,800. That is $2,799 less then JD. Granted it is 3 more Hp for JD, but you get a Cat 1 hitch with BX2200 for that difference ($2,799 less).

Granted the X495 is about the same price as the old 455; but, the old series 400’s (425, 445 and 455) are slowly dying. People are seeing that JD series 400’s are over priced (which I think they are by a lot) compared to BX1800 or BX2200.

Thanks
Mike
