KIOTI DK40SE
I finished the paper work today and they deliever Thursday ! I am replacing a Ford 3600 with front loader . I mainly looked at the Mahindra ,New Holland , and the Kioti . The closer I looked ,the better it looked . The Mahindra had sleeved cylinders , more gauges , but was only a three cylinder . the remotes looked like a after thought . The wiring on the back was for the most part just dangling and exposed . Like I said the closer I looked the better the Kioti looked . Nothing bad to say about New Holland except the price . I ordered the shop manual and the parts book also . I cant wait !

I'm sure you'll enjoy the new DK and probably wonder why you waited so long. How much land do you have?

Hey Carhart,

Well since the rest of the list is slacking I'll be the first to pester you... Uhhh Pic's man... we need pics! On the trailer, 1/2 of the trailer, off the trailer, dog in the seat you know the type.

But serously, I think you will be happy with the DK40. My suggestions are:
1: Lights.. you will need more lights.. the front lights are useless with the FEL installed & rear light is needed.

2: Fill the rear tires. These foreign tractors seem to be a lot lighter than the old US tractors (ie:eek:ld fords in your case, old JD and Case in my case) in the rear .. less junk in the trunk I guess?

3: Remove the detent balls from the rear remote leaver... unless you plan on using a backhoe.. If the lever gets stuck in the A or B position: it makes the tractor VERY difficult to start, and could damage the pump.

4: Buy your 50hr service filters NOW .. so you have them when it's time.. It's amazing how fast that comes around.

5: I've noticed that my 40 (about 100 hours) seems to be gaining power still as it gets broken in more ... so don't panic first few months.

6: Be careful.

Tractor on.

Thanks to all
Yes I will have pictures soon ! I have 10 acers here to mostly mow . I am also having my front tires loaded , because of my 72" woods rotary cutter which weighs a ton it seems like . My Ford 3600 was light on the front with it hanging off the back . I am hoping with the heavier front axle and having the front tires filled it will be ok . If not , I will have to get the front weights . I also ordered the rear trailer hook-up . I was surprised at the price of the shop manual and the parts manual , so I orderded both . When I tried to order one for my 3600 , they wanted $400 plus . There will be a second remote added maybe this winter and also a back work light and additional front lights also . I cant wait !

What's involved in removing the detent balls? Been hating that detent for about 140 hrs now.

Enjoy! I got one just like it in July. I've been meaning to write a review but don't really have enough hours on it to feel like I should yet. (Too busy with other things.)

Very Nice!

So clean and shiny! I remember when mine was like that many years ago. :D

They are really nice when brand new. Not a dirt mark anywhere. Even the tires are nice and black. By the looks of the rear tires in your pictures, it seems like the air pressure might need dropped a bit. They're running on the centers.
Congrats and have many hours of fun on the new toy.

Whoohoo!!! Nice looking rig!! Congrats! I looked at the Mahindras, Kubota, LS, and Deeres. The most bang for the buck is definitely Kioti IMHO. You're right about the wiring on the Mah's. I thought the first one I saw was a fluke , that the dealer rushed the assembly. But no, all of them that I have seen had wires hanging or not protected or both. The LS's I looked at seemed pretty flimsy, plastic fenders and such and the loader joystick is mounted to the loader making a right hand exit impossible.
Is all that open land behind it what you'll be mowing? Yowser! Are you going with ganged reel mowers about 10 feet wide?
I've driven all over east GA looking at the DK 40, 45, 50 SE's with and without HST. I even looked at a new 2008 DK55. I think I have settled on the 45 with HST. The 55 was just a few hundred more, but the added size and weight (about 1000 lbs,) meant that I would have to get a dually to even get it home on my trailer. If anyone is looking for one though at an excellent price, give Dave at Stoll Trailer Sales (Abbeville, SC) a call.
The out the door price for the DK45SEHST was $22075. It is sticker minus factory incentives for not financing thru Kioti. Does this sound like a good deal to y'all?

Yes boomerjoe That is the acerage I will be cutting in the picture . I mow about 5 acers with a 72" finish mower and 5 acers with a 72" rotary cutter . Thanks victor for the comment on the rear tires . The rears had about 25psi and I dropped them down to about 17psi and the ride was so much better and more tread was contacting the ground . I have read alot about tire inflations here and there seems to be alot of opinions . I put about 2 hrs on it today mowing my wild onions ( the only thing that has grown since the cooler weather has hit ) . I figured it woul be good break-in time . The real test will be this spring when I hang that heavy woods rotary cutter on the back and put it to work . I looked the tractor over pretty close today and appreciate the orange paint they use on all the drain plugs and filler plugs (shure is enough of them ). I ordered the back work light from the dealer today , I think it will be needed clearing snow this winter . I love this tractor so far and will write a review this summer after a few more hours in the saddle . ( still thinking about that back hoe ) LOL

Nice tractor and oh I can relate to the New Holland price. I did shop between dealers and one was $4000 less than the others.

Hey Carhart,

That is one dang good looking tractor!! Looks like Kioti moved the side lights from the bars in the front of the operator station, to the rear fenders, and changed the color to black under the orange at the hood.

Congratulations, your machine will do everything you need it.
