Those new S models look great. I think all they need to do is add some curved arm loaders and they'd be all set. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'm very disappointed that they didn't do as the majority of dealers requested (at the Sept. meeting) regarding placing the joystick on the fender as the CKs are done. It seems like it's a little lower than some, but still not as comfortably placed. Still a great looking tractor, but the loader is blocking a good view of the sloped hood in these pics.

A curved arm loader would have been just the ticket. Another misfire in my opinion.

I agree about the placement of the joystick. I wish it was on the fender. That is one thing I like about the NH I tried out. All they needed to do was add a curved arm loader and move the joystick to the fender. I still like the tractor though. Waiting on paperwork to get done on the one I looked at last Friday night. Still undecided about the choice of tire. Ag tires are on right now. I like the looks of the Industrial tires to.

Yep, along with the joystick as you mentioned.

Are all the buckets on the S models gray?

Very nice looking tractor.
Looks just like the baby brother to the DK55.
Had this been available in Oz at this time I probably would have settled on a DK45S instead of the 55.
But I sure ain't unhappy with the 55!
Do they have the same engine as the DK45?

Buzz.

rain rain go away..... well pictures are still waiting to be taken. We have had some crappy weather the past few days, and currently it is cloudy and rainy outside. Not the ideal conditions for a photo shoot... Hopefully tomorrow is better...... I plan on making a photo album on our website of all the Kioti tractors as well as other equipment... Sound like a good idea?? Im putting together an LK3054xs TLB and plan to take a ton of pictures when I get it done....

It's an excellent idea Jon.
BUZZ, I don't believe any change was made to the engine, but they did add another synchronizer to the shuttle shift.

Last Friday I was at my dealer to pick up filters and fluids for my DK45's 50 hr. service. They had two 45S' there and couldn't resist checking them out. Since I am still so new to modern tractors my observations are probably somewhat amateurish.

The wheelbase looks shorter as does the whole tractor. It may be an illusion because of the sloped hood. These tractors had the KL1451 loaders on them and they looked a little out of place on this sloped hood tractor.

Sitting on the tractor I could see almost to the bottom of the loader as it sat on the ground. Very nice. The dash appeared identical to the 45. Three things that I would have liked to have seen were an ammeter and oil pressure gauges instead of lights.(My personal preference). The third thing would be a neutral light that would light up when the shuttle shift is in neutral. I always seem to be checking that.

The joystick for the fel has been moved closer to the steering wheel. This may not be a change for the 1451 but it is different than the one on my 1590. I agree that a fender mount would be much better.

The platform has been cleaned up some with the range selector mounted behind the gear selector on the left side the seat. The manual 4wd engagement lever has been replaced with a push button on the right side fender by the back of the seat. The PTO switch is in the same place. The position and draft controls have been moved a little futher back. A cup holder has been added on the right fender.

A big plus is the lever on the rear of the tractor so that you can raise and lower the lift from the back of the tractor. It does not look like it would be to hard to adapt this to a 45. Maybe some talented person here can come up with a good modification for this.

Overall, this looks like another fine Kioti. Fit and finish looked great. Do I wish that I had waited a month for the 45S? Absolutely not. Except for the rear lever for the lift, nothing else I saw would have made the difference in price worthwhile to me. But for those now looking buy a tractor in this catagory , the 45S would be hard to beat.

You are right about the length of the tractor looking smaller. The DK45 is 130.7 inches. The DK45S is 127.7 inches. The DK45S is wider by a half inch. Wheelbase in the 45S is 74 inches and the 45 is 71.6. Groundclearance is almost identical according to the spec sheet I have for both machnes. I agree about the fit and finish. Fine looking tractor. I'm going up tomorrow and chunk down my hard earned money, well the banks money at least for now.
