Yes Todd it is for RI, not very original, but it works. I'm getting for of a feel for what I'm looking for. I must say, I've been to 5 or dealers from different manufactures and these folks have been great and honest (I have searched out what they have said on various post). I'd like to buy one from each, lol. Thanks for the info on Woodberry, it's nice to have options. I have found a $1000+ difference in price though.

Snell,
What would you recommend for overall use? (Moving dirt, rocks, snow removal ,manuer etc) What would be the best bucket for the dollar?

Jay,
What size tractor are you looking at? Loader size makes a difference in bucket selection. In general, I would recommend going for the heaviest duty bucket for the loader you have. The weight difference won't really affect your lift capabilities and the couple hundred dollars extra is money well spent. The heavier grade will be better for rock while not hurting you for the lighter materials such as snow. If you reverse this and get a huge bucket for moving the snow, generally it would not be safe to carry heavier materials such as rock. Remember even with the Kubota loader, their is no need to limit yourself to a Kubota bucket... their are many aftermarket buckets that do a great job. Some other things that you may want to think about is adding a tooth bar and hooks to the bucket.

Snell,
I'm finalizing the deal on a L3010 with the la481 loader on Thursday of this week . I noticed they offered a 60" bucket and a 66" bucket. I don't know if going with a HD 60 " bucket would be my best bet.I like the size of the 66" but feel now it might be too big. I'm also getting a 6' land pride rake and a 7' rear rake. I want the best all around bucket and hopefully the longest lasting.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Jay,
I would recommend for all around use the L1741A Heavy Duty, roundback bucket. It actually has more capacity than the 66" bucket but if you compare the two side by side the differences will be immediate to you. For example, the 66" weighs 220 lbs while the 60" HD weighs 308 lbs. Regardless of a theme we hear, "wider is not always better". Although preferences vary, it would also allow you to put one hook in the middle instead of the two on the ends. Please, please read the posts on tractor safety when using hooks. They are extremely useful but can also get you into a heap load of trouble if not used with the a great deal of caution.

Frank,
I am having trouble finding the links... maybe someone else can help me out. I know there are some great pictures of hooks and toothbars along with discussions of both but I can't seem to find them. The tooth bar helps by allowing the bucket to dig into gravely soil or brush... where the straight edge of the bucket would tend to move up or down when hitting a rock or stick, the teeth on the tooth bar use the individual points to "stabalize" the bucket. The nice part is that it normally attaches with just 2 bolts so if you are dealing with the snow like this wonderful winter brought us, you can remove it easily and put it back on again in the spring.
The hook(s) are used for lifting and pulling objects by wrapping chain or straps around the hook. Many uses but again... be aware of safety
If someone out there can help Frank by posting the links, it would be greatly appreciated.

Matt,
Thanks for the great advice. I will go with that bucket. This will be my first bota and I want the most useful and sturdy attachments I can afford. Once I get a feel for the tractor I will upgrade the impliments. For right now that's all the savings account will give me
