Yup, they sell lots of Orange equipment.

I'll post here so you can help keep an eye open for a good deal for me.

30-50 HP, PTO 3 point hitch, 4wd. Okay with older, well cared for equipment.
Like to have front loader, box blade. Cab with heat/ac would be ideal.

Of course the final part of the equation is cost. I don't want to pay a lot and I'd pay 16k for the right one. Before I get comments like that won't buy what I'm looking for - I've already seen a few in this range. They seem to get snapped up quick.

Have you actually seen and touched first hand a used tractor with all the above equipment that was priced at anywhere near $16K? As you move up to 50 HP you are into CUTS. They are a different market. I went through all this 8 years ago. Saw stuff advertised/priced as you desire and I would not buy them as they were junk. I wound up buying a new BX.

SCUTS are a gentleman farmer/small land owner commodity. Hours are traditionally below 500 and not use hard. They are traded like cars. Used ones are not much cheaper than new ones. CUTS you are getting into row croppers, landscapers, small contractors. They do not trade often and when they do it is to get rid of something costing money instead of making it. High hours and hard use.

My BX is 8 years old and has 1500+Hours and has been used hard. I would be lucky to get $8K and you would not want it. Have you discussed this with the sales stall at Jennings? They will advise you hoping to get future implement business. They hardly ever get trades; in order for them to make a profit they have to buy at wholesale and owners can easily get more with little effort. They get the high hour stuff as those traders are not concerned as much; they just want to get rid of their junk as easy as they can.

Others my have a whole different perspective, these are just my observations.

LOL, Ron

Out of curiosity I stopped in to see the local guy who sells grey market tractors. What a joke. I'm going to keep my eyes open for the right deal and move quickly.

Good for you... long ago when I was looking at buying some nice Canon lenses, I considered the grey market trying to save a little money. Looking back I am glad I didn't. There is a piece of mind that is worth buying 'legit' products especially when significant dollars are involved.

Does anyone have a New Holland tractor? I'm curious how these perform vs others in the category.

Welcome Ron! When you are ready, go ahead and start a post in the Buying Advice Forum. Please do include details about your property (general location, elevation, size, terrain, weather, access etc) as well of all of the tasks you have to accomplish. Please include both short and long term tasks, as these tractors last decades! I have no doubt you will get lots of great advice!

If you want used, you can also check Tractorhouse.com to see if there are any close enough for you to travel. Also perhaps let your area dealers know you are interested in used and your price range...let them do the work.

I usually use the site from my phone, not very effective. I'll use my laptop to post elsewhere in the forum. Your comment on letting the dealer work for you, what do you mean by that? My experience with dealers is that they sell what they have, not what you're looking for.
