Co-worker just drove into work today in a brand new F150, its a 2015 I think. 6.5 bed, crew cab, 5.0, 4x4. A couple of neat features I liked. It has built in ramps for a 4 wheeler. They have a quick release setup and are mounted up higher in the bed sides. They have cable locks that use the same key as the ignition and there is a groove in the tailgate to help keep the ramps for slipping around when loading a 4 wheeler. The man step mounted in the tailgate is hidden better into a spoiler like setup so it doesn't leave you with a lumpy tailgate. The tailgate locks with the electric door locks. It has some nice bed lights built in. It also has man steps that fold out and retract with a kick of the foot, these are mounted near the front of the bed behind the cab on each side. Over all I'm impressed with the design.

They are pretty sweet trucks! Enough to sway you from a Dodge? :)

The '17 Super Duty is to be revealed at the Texas State Fair next week (9/24 I think). Supposed to be aluminum like the F150 and share the cab with the F150. Can't wait to see my new truck (which I hope to order in 3 years :)).

If I was looking, I would without a doubt look at a F150. We have 3 2014 F150's at work, they are nice but not really loaded either. I like them but this 2015 is nicer yet.

It's amazing the technology and goodies in the new trucks (and cars, for that matter) now a days. I mean, heated seats, 360 degree camera view, lane keep assist, intelligent cruise control, trailer backup assist (coming for the '16). No wonder the prices have continued to climb. You can still get a good mid-level truck for a decent price, though.

I generally like the new F-150 a lot, but have started seeing white work truck models on the road, and they are butt ugly. I know that manufacturers probably don't put a whole lot of effort into making sure the basic work models look good, since they focus styling time on the popular high-dollar models. But geez, this new model looks pretty awkward as a work truck with black trim and bumper.

I like the heated steering wheel feature

Pretty crazy that a SuperCrew 4x2 XLT with cloth, a moonroof and the 5.0L v8 stickers at over $50K. Cruise control isn't even available in the base trucks unless you order $4k in packages.

$50K for a 4x2 XLT with short bed is a bit ridiculous, but knocking off $14K in discounts makes the end price pretty typical as far as trucks go nowadays. I suspect they got all those discounts built into the pricing to play some sort of mind game on buyers. Looks like they are getting a $50K truck on sale for $36K, but in reality that is a $36K truck.

And the problem with that is my county sees that as a $50k truck, not what you paid for it and will tax you to death come property tax time.

The new trucks look like better thought out versions of what I have the last of the steel F150s!

We have one at work with the 2.7. It runs real great and gets 18 mpg avg. It surprised me the first time I used it when I stopped and then when the lights changed green I heard the engine start I didn't realize that it had cut out. At another light the engine stayed off for 30 seconds before it kicked back on.

Nice looking trucks for sure;I thing I just read that the repair cost is 26% higher for the aluminum bodied trucks.I am a GM guy for sure;we didn't have a Ford dealer in the area for many years and the one we have now is one of those sell but can't fix-it dealers.
Our area is mainly GM,then Ram(Dodge),Toyoda then Ford.

Repair costs are running about the same as the previous model F150, and insurance costs have NOT skyrocketed as some people would like you to believe.

I've seen a bunch on the road, and to me, the new design looks terrible in white/light colors. I saw an XLT in what I think was the "platinum white" and a platinum trim in Silver paint, both looked horrible. They look much better is blue, black, green, etc. Maybe it's just personal preference...

I agree that the darker colors look better. I prefer darker colors on all vehicles, though...

And in the meantime, while GM knocks the aluminum trucks compared to their "steel" trucks, they are working like crazy to get their aluminum truck to market!

As Ford works with Alcoa to come up with the new Micromill aluminum to make processing Al quicker, and enable the use of Al for even more parts.

Oh, and GM's engineer must want to smack the marketing team for bashing aluminum while they are working on their own version.

That's not accurate. There have been past discussions on the cost of training and facilities for aluminum repair not to mention the materials and the differences in how they are repaired.

If aluminum panels didn't cost more to produce or repair there would be no reason for steel panels as everybody would use aluminum.
